We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun Mexico. We chose a Two story roof top terrace with a private pool. The service was phenomenal, the food was outstanding, the weather - well not that great, but certainly not terrible.
My first impression wasn't great...we got to the airport it was pouring rain and humid, Amex wasn't there waiting for us, we were annoyed (they absolutely redeemed themselves though), we took a regular cab to the resort and were very nervous. We went through a not so desirable neighborhood and were at a light and a guy outside of the car put his hand on our door to open it, but I leaned over DH to lock it, the light changed and we moved on but a little scary. When you get to the resort you have to go through 3 different iron gates to get in. I felt completely safe while I was there.
So the first day it rained, I realized I didn't have enough female supplies, and the one round brush to blow out my hair that I brought, broke. Oh and my laptop sparked and blew out the first day we were there. Luckily none of that effected us, we still had a GREAT time and even fit in Swimming with the dolphins which we've both always wanted to do.
It took forever to load the pictures into an album and I'm sorry I don't have time to post here and hopefully this link will work, if not they are in my album.
Awesome pics!!! I am loving that room!!! I would have never left it!

omg andrea...that room looks amazing. I am SOOOOO jealous you got to swim with dolphins!!! that is a lifelong dream of mine...except i reaaaaaaaaaally want to see a pink dolphin before i die.

Thanks ladies! If it would've been sunny the whole week I wouldn't have wanted to leave, but since it was cloudy A LOT and we ATE so much, I was pretty ready to go home.
Melody, Richie and I have never swam with the dolphins either and I've ALWAYS wanted to. It was awesome but the water was cold.
I never even heard of a pink dolphin.

Ooo..........I'm a litle jealous! We stayed at the riviera cancun one which was gorgeous but playa mujeres looks even nicer!!!!

That's funny and I want to check out Riviera Cancun. PLaya MUjeres is only a year old and is really gorgeous.

It was Cancun...about 40 minutes North of the Cancun Airport. It's a very secluded resort.
