For the HM, I didn't care about the destination as much as I cared about outstanding service, pampering and 'super deluxe'...so I went to Mexico and stood at an AI that was a Leading Hotel of the World...people expected some place like Hawaii, but for our money the best bet was close, fancy and gourmet. No regrets! ![]()
BTW - HM picking is the BEST and most FUN part of planning...enjoy!![]()

I vote for the super luxe resort. There are great places in the Caribbean with outstanding service. You and your new husband deserve to be pampered and have the best ammenities.

We had our minds up that we wanted to go to Hawaii. I picked a good, though not 5 star hotel in honolulu in addition to the 7 night cruise. We are staying at the Sheraton Princess, which is very good, but like i said, not 5 star. However, I did choose one of the better rooms, the ocean view. I hope to be on the beach most of the time anyway!

like a 3 star - nothing fancy
to go to both places with a hopper flight is soooooo expensive for just a week (3-4 nights in each place)
the only way we would afford it is if we go to a good but not great hotel there

Ok, yea...that can make a difference. I dont know what quotes u got but FM if u want.
I just got a Hawaii package (since u and I are the same time almost) and it was Maui, Kaui(sp?) and Oahu-4 star hotel. U can do w/out Oahu but I wanted to.

I would go with Super-lux in the Carribean. That is what we are doing. We didn't want the flight to Hawaii..too long, so we decided on doing the Carribean really NICE! We are spending ALOT for going to the Carribean, but we feel it is sooo worth it b/c it is our honeymoon and you do that only once.
We decided to go to Anguilla and stay in the Cuisinart Resort and Spa. Check it out. We think it looks amazing!!!!

wow great anguilla pics... if you're in the mood for something with a lot of natural wonders, GREAT FOOD (even great vegetarian food), catering to your every whim, and a small resort (personalized) feel....

anyhow, i'd say Caribbean all the way! shorter flight and fancier hotel, i'm all for it!

We went on a cruise & I am not not usually into the super luxe & pampering but it was great! I loved that I had lobster tail for dinner one night & rack of lamb another! And that my room was cleaned twice a day & there were chocolates on the pillows.
So, unless you don't get to travel often & this would be your only opportunity to go somewhere crazy, I would pick the fancier resort.

Normally, I would say that the hotel wouldn't bother me, because all I don't spend a lot of time in the room, but for the HM, um, yes, definitely want the pampering so I would go with that! lol

We are going to book hawaii....we can always go to the caribbean....and its really not that expensive...we are gonna spend a lot in hawaii...money that ill never have again...We are going to 3 islands...for 12 nights...and maybe eaither vegas for hollywood for 2 nights on the way back....

It was affordable but very pampering and beautiful. Included 24 room service, free massages, mani and pedicure. Food and drink were outstanding. Our honeymoon was only 3100 including airfare for a week through Liberty Travel.

to me, it's all about the luxury! FH and I booked a 5 star resort in Negril for the price of a moderate resort in St Lucia.
we are very happy with our choice. the resort we're going to is rated the highest possible rating on tripadvisor.com by former guests.
