Honeymoon Registry - how to include on the Invitations?

Anyone here doing a honeymoon registry? FH already have separate homes and don't plan to have the standard registries at Bed, Bath; Fortunoff, Macy's, etc...just have people contribute toward a honeymoon...

how does one include that info about how guests can donate to the HM on the invitation??

Do you just order separate cards and include a link to the internet site?

Anyone know how this works?

i think like with other registries you should just have your moh include a registry card with shower invitations and ask your mom and bridal party to spread the word to the rest of the guests

We're registered with Honeymoonwishes.com and they create a template you can print to include with your bridal shower invitations. You can print them on cardstock.

I included our registry info on our wedding website and blasted it out to everyone and also added the link to our STDs.

thanks for all the ideas..problem is I dont plan to have a shower (part of it being I dont have sisters and very few female close friends, I always bonded more w/ guys than girls for some reason).

Back to the drawing board I guess.

You never put any registry info in the wedding invitation. If you are not having a shower then I would try and use word of mouth. Or set up a wedding website with the info but do not put it in the formal wedding invite.

you cant put registry info on your invite. its incredibly tacky. if you arent having a shower, use good old word of mouth or if you have a website.

i also dont think your supposed to put registry info in invite...why not consider a wedding shower (for guys and girls)?? otherwise, I guess the best way to get the word out would be word of mouth, wedding website or save the date w/ website

We used Travelers Joy for our honeymoon website and it worked GREAT! Got almost $2k in gifts from friends and family, and it was so much fun to involve them in our HM planning!

You do word of mouth and you link to your HM registry on your wedding website, wherever that is.

We had a link and password to our HM website on the same card as the hotel block info in our invitations.

We registered at BB&B as well as travelersjoy. We actually found more people were interested in giving us HM gifts!

Related question: my registry was basically for engagement/shower gifts, we're hoping to receive only cash for wedding gifts to help defray the cost... do you think we should shut down our registry after the shower? should we bother linking to them on our wedding website or will people think we want wedding gifts?

If people want to give you gifts, they're going to give you gifts whether you have a registry or not. Shutting your registry down probably won't stop them. At least if you still have your registry, you'll get things you want.

I found that I returned a lot of stuff from BB&B and used every penny of it. We combined our two homes so I didn't think we'd ever need that much, but it was really nice.

We did receive a lot of cash/checks as well -- people do tend to give that. With the HM registry, that money was basically just cash we got in the form of one large check after the HM from traveler's joy, which was nice too.
