Honeymoon ?'s +vent

Honeymoon ?'s +vent

FH and I thought we knew where we wanted to go until we went to Liberty Travel today.
We discussed a certain amt, and as we're driving there, I blank on what we agreed on. I ask him and end up adding an additional 1k to it. He said no that's too much.. ok. no problem.

Originally we wanted to do
-Italy & Ireland
but if that ended up being too expensive, we would consider doing just one.

Alternative #1 was Hawaii.

So we gave the woman the dates that we could travel, she looks up all the info and oh man, I was blown away!
8k for a 14 cruise around italy!!

I'm getting less excited as she's moving farther and farther away from where I truly and really want to go.

FH asks about Hawaii. She could get us 5 days each on 2 islands for half of that cruise price. (which is closer to our budget)

He then asks about the all-inclusive resorts which is not too high on my list of places to go/visit.

I said to him at dinner, I'd like to get over-seas to Europe at some point of our lives.

I just can't believe how expensive the air fare alone is! That would close to half our budget!!!

So my questions are these..
Are any of you having budgeting issues?
Did you have an initial place in mind and then change it when you found out it was going to cost more?

TIA for your thoughts and advice!

FH and I want to go to California, we have both been to Europe and since we are getting married in Feb we wanted somewhere warm. FH oringally wanted to go to Atlantis in the Bahmas but when we priced it, it was going to be more than 4 thousand dollars just on air and hotel so then we decided California which is where i really wanted to go because i have never been to Cali and I really want to go to Disneland and see the San Diego Zoo. Cali i think will be more in my budget. We are waitting for Jet Blue to come in with some Feburary flights.

We are trying to do the whole honeymoon for 5k, but we have free flights from air miles.

If you do research and look online, you can get a 10-14 day cruise around Europe for less than that IMO. What stinks is the flights!

Even with our free flights, if we use them to Europe we have to pay the fees which amounts to like $500 each.

Have you tried looking online and not going through a TA?? sometimes you can get a much better deal through the site.

Alaska Airlines Signature visa offeres a companion fare for $99 with their credit card. Pay for one ticket and then the companion is $99 plus tax. Alaska Air flies to Hawaii. Try Norwegien Cruise Lines for a 7 night cruise on the Pride of America. You visit each island You can spend a couple of night on land and then go on the cruise.

For Italy, we did a Med. Cruise last summer. Arrived in Rome - toured for a couple of days and traveled by train to Venice where we left on the cruise.
