Danielle and I have been discussing our honeymoon lately. We have it narrowed down to 2 ideas. The first being a cruise to Bermuda. We would get an outside cabin with the deck. The second idea is to go to Sandals in St Lucia.
Now the problem. I have never been on a cruise before. I get sea sick, airsick, and even car sick if I am in the back seat for long rides. I usually have to take Dramamine for air, boat, or car rides.
Will I get sick on the cruise? Should we take the chance and go? Danielles mom was talking about the patch that goes behind the ear, and also the shot that you can get that will eleminate the sea sickness. Do those work?
We can get a really good package deal for a cruise, and it is alot cheaper also. My cousin works for cruisesonly.com and he would set us up with an awesome deal.
I would also love to go to Sandals, but it is going to cost around $4500. We havent gone to a travel agent yet, I just priced the trip out on the internet so far.
I want to have a nice relaxing time on my honeymoon and I dont want to worry about getting sick. Ive always wanted to go on a cruise, because I heard such good things from my family and friends that have gone before.
What do I do????

Re: HONEYMOON TOPIC
Hi,
My name is Lauren and I have been on a cruise to Bermuda 3 times. Let me start by saying Bermuda is amazing! The island is absolutely beautiful, the people are amazingly friendly, and the different beaches are all unique. You can rent scooter and tour the island, you can go on small fishing trips, rent jet-ski's, and much much more. There are 3 different ports that the cruise ships stop at and all are magnificent. As far as you cruising...if you get sick easily then you may not want to go on a cruise. Generally, you cannot tell that you are on a boat. However, if you cruise in September, (hurricane season) the waters do get rough. Also, dramine does work. You have to take it an hour before you board the ship and continue taking it as needed. It does make you drowsey...and they do have ''non-drowse' but keep in mind...the non-drowsey doesn't work as good. A friend of mine at work went to St. Lucia for her honeymoon and her photos looked beautiful. The only downfall with St. Lucia is that there wasn't much to do. So keep these all in mind. If you want, I have some photos of Bermuda that I would be happy to send to you so you can get an idea. If you want my email address, just respond to this and I would be happy to give you my address and I can sure forward you my photos from this August (I got engaged in Bermuda)!! Ok, hope this helps!

Re: HONEYMOON TOPIC
Scott,
I think if you use something like the patch you should be fine. I know how sickly you can be. LOL I barely felt the ship moving when I was on it. The only time I really noticed was sitting watching a show or eating and when I went to bed a night. That was actually nice, I slept better on the cruise then I ever have. :) I would go with the cruise. It is so worth it. You will have a great time, there is so much to do and see, you won't have time to think about being sick.
