FH and I are disagreeing on our unplanned honeymoon... i want to go to Fiji and/or Tahiti or somewhere exotic like that...all he says is that spending $10,000 on a honeymoon is not going to happen
about what are you spending???if you don't mind me asking
We also can't go until the summer because i will be teaching or subbing at least
You can't say that 10k is ridiculous because for some peopel it isn't. Everyone is in different financial positions so it's not fair to judge those of us who are spending that much.
well the thing is ....we are looking to buy a house and we are looking to put atleast $80,000 down i said to him what is $3000-4000 on a honeymoon? so instead why can't we put $75,000 down on a house
i know $10,000 is alot for a honeymoon but..
We have the same to put down right now, but we both figured that it was our hard earned money in the first place to spend. So we are doing the $10,000.00 honeymoon to Bora Bora and Moorea. It may be the only thing that we can do for a while since we are buying a house in Jan. It's once in a lifetime opportunity to do something special like travel and splurge without regrets. Trust me I am marrying a tight wad (he took my credit cards)and he actually was flexible with this.
We started out with plans for going to either Tahiti or Hawaii, 2 weeks minimum. As we started getting closer to booking, we took a good look at our lives and our finances and couldn't justify spending the money. I'm certainly not judging anyone who's spending a lot of $$, in fact a little part of me is jealous, but we realized that we would rather spend that money fixing up our house. Everyone's situation is different and every couple must make the decision that makes sense for them. We decided to go to Acapulco for 1 week and then Puerto Vallarta for a week. We're using my parents time shares and they're giving us their miles for the airfare, so our trip is close to free. This way we won't feel guilty living like rock stars while we're there!
