I know some people are uncomfortable talking about money but... how much are all of you spending/alloting for a 7 day honeymoon? Ive looked at like 15 different places and they are all like 5-6K!!.. When did that happen??

FH and I don't want to spend more than 5k. We know some people that spent close to 10k and that is just way too much for us. We are planning on going to the Keys in FL since FH does not like to fly long distances. Hopefully we will be able to stick to our budget!

FH and I were just looking up Honeymoon information earler! We are thinking of perhaps doing Costa Rica at one of the higher end resorts. Since the cost of living is low there, it's not a TON to go all out. Plus airfare prices are relatively low! I would love to stay under 5k for ~9 nights.

The most we want to spend is 5k, but you're not kidding, honeymoons are expensive!

I think we'll try to stay in the $5k zone, but who knows. FH wants to go to Hawaii, so unless I come up with a good alternative, that's what we're gonna do as of now.

Fh and I decided to go with a lower wedding budget so we can splurge on the honeymoon. So we are looking to spend no more than 10k. We'd like to stay around 6 or 7 though.

FH and I are going back to the same resort we got engaged at and that ran us about 5k for 7 nights. We are planning on staying longer for our honeymoon (10-12 nights) and surprisingly, it is not that much more expensive. I think the plane fare is what is the most expensive.

FH and I aren't really seeing eye to eye on this one... I see it as a once in a lifetime experience and I would love to go to Australia and New Zealand for our Honeymoon but he doesn't want to spend the money to do that (I can't say that I blame him.)I don't really want to go over 5K and I think he would probably have a stroke if I told him that is what I'm budgeting. I think he doesn't want to go over 3K. In all fairness, we have traveled a lot so to him he doesn't really see it as a once in lifetime thing, he sees it as just another trip. I on the other hand want it to stand out a little.
Where are you all looking to go?

We're strongly considering Australia/New Zealand. It is very expensive, but we're checking out cruises that leave from Sydney. It seems to be slightly more affordable than creating tours, transfer flights, etc. December/January is also the BEST time to go so its perfect for us winter brides!

I had my heart set on Hawaii but it's just wayyyyy too expensive for us. We're most likely going to Antigua, which will be GORGEOUS and in our budget. I think $6-7K is pretty standard, honestly, especially if you're going for more than a week.

Yessss!!!! That is exactly why I want to go there! It would be BEAUTIFUL that time of year and it's always been my dream to have my honeymoon either there or Hawaii. I don't really like cruising by FH loves it and I'm hoping that by doing a cruise I can entice him.

Probably also 5k. We want to do a 7 day cruise to either out of Ft. Lauderdale to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Haiti and Jamaica--OR out of Ft. Lauderdale to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras and one other stop. The prices are cheaper than our Alaska cruise so we aren't really worrying abut a budget. We REALLY wanted Bora Bora, but that's totally way out of any budget we could have.

Our hotel is technically paid for already. My MOH's mom is giving us her time share for a week and we can use it ANYWHERE in the world. We're kicking around the idea of Australia (so we can go right after the wedding since it will be Summer there) OR Italy and postponing the honeymoon until June-ish so we can go when its warm.

For a 7 day/6 night honeymoon we came in a little below 5K at a Sandals resort in St. Lucia - private 2 story villa w/ butler service (sale through their website). With airfare, we'll probably be a little above 5K. You can definitely stay below 5K at their resorts if you stay in a basic room, but we splurged for our honeymoon.

We are thinking about the same Sandals in St. Lucia - would LOVE to be able to the same deal - how far in advance did you book? We are getting married next April but prob can't honeymoon until Late July.
