Well my FH and I just figured out that we under budgeted for this whole wedding. We will not have enough money to pay for our HM. So we decided to take it next year. He has already put in for his vacation and they can not change it, so that is why we are waiting till next year. However, we both took time off already, so is there anywhere we can go that is relaxing and inexpensive?
UPDATEUPDATE We are keeping our honeymoon as is! I have a very close family friend who wants to give us the money and said we can pay her back after the wedding! I hate taking money from people especially for something like this, but she insisted!

Re: honeymoon...
How much can you spend...MAX...including food? ( but not spending money)...also we used all the cash we got from the wedding for food..spending money etc...so all we paid upfront was hotel and air.
AND the first place we booked was directly thru the hotel online, and we only had to pay a 3 day deposit, so we could have used the cash from the wedding to pay for the room when we checked out, but we ended up switching and using a travel agent.

Block Island? It might not be cheap, but maybe you can swing a deal - it is gorgeous there & very relaxing. I loved it when we went two years ago..

Re: honeymoon...
Thanks ladies! I'm going to talk to my fiance tonight when he gets in and maybe check-out the Pocono's and the bed and breakfasts. I will give an update!
Maybe you could check out renting a house or cabin in the Poconos. My FH and I went up back in November and it was so nice and romantic. It will be off season so you should be able to get a really good rate. We rented a really nice house with a jacuzzi which was inexpensive. There was hiking and horseback riding where we stayed but we saw a few that were on a lake that would be nice too. Good luck.

Re: honeymoon...
Theres a place called Penn Extates in the Poconos. Its residential and lots of the people rent their houses. You may want to clal them someof the huses are on lakes...one lake has a sand beach My family used to own a huse on that lake. They also had canoes, paddle boats, etc on the lake for people to use....good luck! enjoy whatever you do!
Edited to spell community correctly...Penn Estates....they also had tennis, large swimming pool, etc.

I don't know how much you have to spend but try some of the sites like moments-notice.com or travelzoo.com and maybe there's something last minute that would fit your needs and be discounted to a point where you would get a lot for very little. My FH and I have traveled to places on a shoestring budget that amazes all the people we know. Don't give up!

Definately not! When you get a house that will be your vacation! We originally wanted to go to St. Lucia but that didn't quite fit into our budgets either... My Mom is letting us use her airfare miles which helps alot too.

I don't know what you consider inexpensive but we are staying at an all inclusive in mexico for one week for $2600.
Well our HM orginally wasn't that much, but because we totally forgot to budget it in, we are all out of wedding money. We are not going to tap into our 'House' fund because we need every peeny in there for a house.
My co-worker went to Montauk for a few days righ after the wedding and then later went to Hawaii. Take a vacation B4 the house, because once you buy the house there will be no money and it is no vacation! Lots of work.
