Honoring grandparents you didn't know???

Hey ladies, so both of my grandparents on my Dad's side died before I was born. Not only did I not know them but no one ever talks about them. From what I get from my mother my Dad pretty much grew up with out parents. Very long story, but his dad left them and his mom went crazy. Anyway, my question is... do I honor them at the ceremony?? We are honoring my FH's grandparents and would feel bad if I didn't do anything for mine. But, I never knew them and I am not sure how my father would feel about it. What do you ladies think?

You should!!!! no matter what they are your grandparents!

personally i think it is hard to honor the memory of someone if there are no memories. if you feel obligated to do so, run it by your father first. while it is not personal to you, it is to him.

I agree.
This is a wedding ceremony, not a memorial.

I lost my mom three years ago, and all that I am publically doing is lighting a memorial candle at the beginning of the ceremony and having her picture on my bo-k. I don't want to impose my grief on my guests, nor do I want to upset my Dad.
I will do some other things privately, like place flowers on her grave the day after, wear her wedding ring pinned to the inside of my gown.

Talk with your Dad first and get his opinion. Respect his wishes. That is more important.
