Honoring the memories of loved ones

My grandmother died three years ago, she raised me. Her biggest wish was to see me marry, she evn had the dressed for it. I want to keep her memories alive at my wedding. Is anybody else doing anything to keep the memories of a loved one alive? If so, please share.

Honoring the memories of loved ones

I am leaving a seat empty at the parents table, I am incorporating my mom's favorite flower into my bouquet, my MOH's bouquet, my dad's flower, and the centerpieces. I will also include those we love on a memorial candle to be lit during the ceremony.

Honoring the memories of loved ones

I ordered a bouquet charm with my mom's photo inside of it to put on my bouquet. I am also having the officiant mention her during the ceremony. I am also going to reserve a seat for her at the ceremony. I am thinking of other ways to honor her, but at the same time, I don't want the memory of my mom to overtake the day.

Honoring the memories of loved ones

Both my parents are gone. I am carrying my mother's rosary in my bouquet; she received it from the priest when my parents got married. Not sure what I will carry of my dad's, though. Both my parents will be mentioned in the Prayer of the Faithful during the wedding Mass.

I don't want my wedding to be a memorial service so I am trying to keep this kind of stuff out of everyone's faces. I mean, everyone already knows my parents have passed away!

Honoring the memories of loved ones

I'm having a piece of my uncle's (who was like a dad to me) old shirts sewn into my dress. Like Lorelei said , i dont want it to be in everyones face. This way hes with me the whole time and its not plastered everywhere which may upset me if i see it all over the place

Honoring the memories of loved ones

I purchased a necklace that has a small vial in it for some of my moms ashes. I will work it into my bouquet. At the reception we are having the venue set up a memorial table with photos of loved ones. There will be a sign that says 'we know you'd be her today if heaven wasn't so far away'... the table will also have an empty chair.
