My mom and i both had our fittings today....Im getting married July 7th!!
ME-1pm appt at Davids B... - girl was nice -took about 30 min -THEN she told me she's going to START my dress on JUNE 23...and I would pick it up on June 28th. WAIT...what about 2nd fitting????? -Give them ALOT of money in CASH-(bc i figured what am i gonna do? Ive called other places and they wont take an outside dress!)
MOM-3pm in Lynbrook -woman was soo sweet -took about 10 min -mom makes another appointment for June 13th for HER 2nd FITTING!
WAIT A SEC??? I talk to the manager who was SOOO nice....and told her my story....i thought it was a little nuts for ME the BRIDE to not have a 2nd fitting....so then she tells me she'll take my dress in the store!
BACK to Davids B----get my dress....and then they argue that they can only give me $50 of my HUGe amount of cash I gave them...LOL...but they eventually after some arguing....gave me the money back....and went back to Lynbrook...where i have my 2nd FITTING with my mom again...
UGGGG sorry for the long story....was kinda upset

Im sorry your 1st fitting experience was not that great!! How did the dress fit?? Im glad you got it all worked out though!!

I was gonna bring the camera...but forgot!!! The dress fits fine....its actually a little big which is a GOOD thing.....i was just soo bummed about the 1st experiance...the 2nd one worked out SOOO much better!!!

Glad it worked out.... because at DB the are NEVER supposed to take an outside dress unless one of the seamstress's decides todo it on the side. Luckily you were able to get your money back.

Sorry your first fitting was not fun!!!! I am glad the place in Lynbrook offered to do your dress!!! you need a second fitting to make sure the alterations are correct!!!

Ditto, I'm sorry you had to go through such a negative experience with them. But I'm glad it's working out in the end!!
This is why so many people buy from David's and never step foot in the store again. Phyllis at Gownfind (Bridal Elegance) said that she gets a lot of business this way. I don't doubt it, she was great about it.

Glad to hear that everything worked out! I agree 0- DB is great for getting an afforsable dress, but that's it! I'm going to Phyllis!

WOW - that is horrible - i would have been soo pissed!! good thing the lady in lynbrook was willing to take the dress and give you the attention that you need.
