i went to a wedding recently and there was a hotdog kart. they were serving hotdogs, there was saurkraut and onions, ketchup and mustard, and they were also serving pretzels. the wedding was buffet style, but there was hardly ANY food at cocktail hour, the buffet food took a really long time till it was ready, so everyone was eating the hotdogs just because we were starving!! and then everyone was complaining that they didn't feel well, and they were mad that hot dogs were a menu choice at a wedding.
seriously, what do you think about it??

was there a reason for the hot dog stand? Like is that where they met or is it their fav food... or some silly story behind it? Otherwise it is a little weird if there wasn't other food there ....

I love it for an after-hours thing, not during the reception. I actually really do love it but no one else would - family and friends would be appalled.

Thats HOT!!!!, lol. I read a couple of posts called a New York Cart, that has all that good stuff. It would be cool at the CH for the kids to eat hot dogs instead of duck patte, hahahah or at the end when everyone is drunk, hot dogs are great drunk food, lololol

i totally agree that it would be cool for the CH or for after the wedding. but this was during the reception. it was part of dinner. and the food took so long to be ready, we all started eating the hotdogs.
...ps they weren't great hotdogs.

I think its very different and cool...I think it would be nice if you were just doing a cocktail style wedding and had all the different stations as dinner, and that was one of them, but only if the wedding itself was casual. I can also understand why some people would be weirded out having hot dogs at a wedding if it was in a nice classy place. Its one thing if its a beach/bbq very casual type of affair, but it might seem out of place in other venues.

I agree with some of the other girls - it's a cute idea for an after-hours thing or if there is a story behind it, otherwise I think it's kind of weird, especially since that was basically the only thing people ate

I went to a wedding where after the reception they had a cart outside by the parking lot that had white castle hamburgers and some pretzels. Everyone loved it and it definitely was original.

If I let FH plan the whole thing we would have the reception in our RH but with BBQ food.
I can't imagine having a hot dog stand in the room though, that might make me sick too!! Maybe as drunk food for after hours but certainly not as a main meal!

well, if it were all up to us we would probably have hot dogs and hamburgers at our RH because we arent really big chicken and fish eaters. i dont think we would ever actually do that because i know our guests would be very insulted and appalled so i wouldnt go there.
