Hotel Block question...

Hey all!

Although I'm not getting married until mid 2016.. I blocked rooms at the Fox Hollow months ago because for whatever reason I felt pressured to do so. Now I'm having second thoughts about wanting my hotel block there and am thinking I'd prefer blocking rooms at the holiday inn next to the venue bc it's so convenient.

Has anyone broken a contract with the fox hollow? We're you able to do so and if you were, was there a few or any other issues?

Thank you!!!

Hotel Block question...

Maybe just make a hotel block at the Holiday Inn also so guests have more options and can choose which hotel they prefer. Or, I know my hotel block if the rooms aren't taken they just release the rooms again so there's no obligation for me to pay...I'm not sure if the Fox Hollow is like that, but if it is I can't really see it being a problem that you want to cancel the block, they would just release the rooms to the public

Hotel Block question...

Since fox hollow requires 70% occupancy in the rooms you block, you may run into a problem if they can't get another block to fill your night. You don't want to be responsible to pay for all those rooms at over $200 a night! Definitely call them and see what can be done if anything.

Hotel Block question...

Why are you second guessing your room block decision?

Hotel Block question...

Only bc the hotel next door is so close and convenient whereas fox hollow is 20 minutes away. I also don't think I would be able to fill two room blocks bc most guests will be local and won't stay over.

Hotel Block question...

What does your Fox Hollow contract say? How many rooms did you block and what do you have to guarantee? I decided not to book with a hotel that had a guarantee because I didn't want to get screwed in the end. It doesn't hurt to call them up and discuss. What venue are you using?
