I am currently have rooms blocked closed to our RH. Me and my bridesmaids are planning staying there the night before my wedding and are planning on getting ready there, but checkout is @12 and we need at least til 2pm. The hotel won't give me a late checkout. I have no idea what to do. I am thinking of calling around for other hotels and see what they have to offer. My question is should the hotel be closer to the RH or the Church? My RH is @ exit55 and my Church is @ exit 63. Does it matter?
TIA
*Update* I spoke with my MOH who is staying in the room the night before my wedding and she decided to stay the night of my wedding too. Now we don't have to check out at 12 and we don't have to rush to be out 2pm. My limo isn't coming until 2:15-2:30. Thank god it worked out. This is my first dilema and I was freaking out. Thanks for listening.

Re: HOTEL BLOCKS
I would think def closer to the RH. Only since people will be leaving from there to go to the hotel. Hyatt Wind Watch is a good pic

Re: HOTEL BLOCKS
why don't you stay the night of the wedding as well? I'm staying at the Sheraton around exit 53(?) and we're planning on staying from wednesday - saturday. Most of our guests are staying over after the reception which is going to be fun b/c the hotel has a HUGE bar in the lobby. the lobby is HUGE!
check out time will almost always be around noon. The sheraton is giving our guests a GREAT deal of 109 a night...
We also checked out the Mariott Courtyard around exit 60 & the holiday inn express at exit 56.
The Hyatt Wind Watch is also and excellent hotel.

We are booked at the same Sheraton. We are staying the night of the wedding, but in a different room. The first night I need a room with double beds. The night of my wedding my Fh wants a king size bed. So that is what we booked. So according to them since I am switching to another room I am technically checking out of one and moving to another. If worse comes to worse we are going to have to keep the double bed room. I love the ambiance of this hotel. They even said if it rains we can come there to take pics before the reception. Ugghhh I don't know what to do.

that's a tough one. I can understand why you would want the king size bed for your wedding night
We're getting the bridal suite for Thursday & Friday but a regular room for wednesday and FH wants to book the bridal suite for wed night so we DONT have to go through checking out & in again.
i love the ambiance of the hotel too!! The minute we walked in we were like ...'oh yes...'
mainly b/c we KNEW we wanted to keep the party going AFTYER the reception (which will be over at 12:30am...) when we saw that bar... OMG. They even said they'll keep it open passed 1:30am for us.
My groomsmen also know about the strip club up the block ...lol

I am going to wait for the saleswoman Amanda to get back to me. Hopefully we can work this out. We are planning on having an after party as well.

Re: HOTEL BLOCK *Update*
Question regarding blocking out rooms for our guests. Is there usually a minimum or maximum and how does it work as far as paying. Do they want me to give a credit card # to hold them?? Thanks

My hotel started at 10 rooms, I can add more later if I want. I would think that would be the minimum #. No, you don't have to give CC info. Usually, reservations have to be made by a certain date. After that date, the rooms open up to the general public. So there is no financial obligation on your part.
