FH and i just need to spend some time together. i was thinking of surprising him with a hotel room out east somewhere and then going to a nice dinner.
please list hotels that are nice but not too expensive, preferably in suffolk so we can get away from nassau for a bit

Well there is always Gurneys in Montauk. How east do you want to go?
The Huntington Hilton and Islandia Marriots are nice too

not too far east. maybe central suffolk or eastern suffolk. although i'm not ruling anything out because we just need to get away!

The Courtyard Marriot in Ronkonkoma. Then you can do dinner in Port Jefferson. There is also a great fondue wine bar down there.

The Hyatt Windwatch is beautiful...they jsut redid it & they are on a golf course. I think it is beautiful. I am not sure how much it is though but if you look on expedia i know people that thought they had to book for my wedding through expedia (dont' ask) said they got a quote of $129.
Or what about danford's inn in port jeff...they are so many restuarants over there

Believe it or not, I actually got a pretty reasonable quote for a night at the Oheka Castle when I was looking. You can get a room in the $150-$180 range I believe.
