Hotel near La Quinta in Garden City

Does anyone recommend another hotel near La Quinta in Garden CIty? I might need to add more rooms & they are completely booked for my night...

how many rooms do you need. I blocked 15 rooms at la quinta and most was supposed to be FH's family from upstate but now they might stay at a hotel by his house instead, were trying to find out. Still waiting to see if people in our BP will stay but i already know of some who are not staying. Still have to wait on a few other family members but ill let you know

Isn't there a Hampton Inn right there?

I blocked our rooms at La Quinta back in Oct 07 and my rate is $159 a night. If you booked later you probably have a higher rate. They went up to $179 when we blocked but they gave us the lower rate the Wingate was offering. I know that when it was the Wingate some girls got a rate of $139.

HAHAHA not saying that he doesnt do these type of things but i think with so much going on now he has procrastinated but ill be honest if i was still in charge of that i wouldnt havent done it by now either.

cant really negotiate. but i got $159 and i thought that was good considering it is 5 days before christmas so

Also the time of year determines the price. It will be different if its summer vs winter

Other hotels-
Hampton Inn (near the DMV)
Red Roof
Holiday Inn (next to CB)
Marriot (Uniondale)

We got $139/night but then again we booked this summer when it was still Wingate. We have a signed contract and they are honoring it for the rooms we blocked, but if those run out I'm expecting the price will go up for any others.

I think people who booked shortly after the switch were given the Wingate's regular price of $159 rather than La Quinta's $179?

However, when I looked on their website it looked like rooms were regularly $199 now! It could just be more expensive in the summer but I don't know!

The name 'La Quinta' sounds like it should be $59.99 a night not $200 a night!

Yep.. just checked their website again and at least for the summer the regular price is $199! There are no rooms available on our nights but I think it's because we must have them all blocked

i checked for my date and its 189.99 a night - thats still really expensive - especially for a hotel named La Quinta seriously it does not sound like an expensive hotel....ugh, im going to have to argue with them and try to get it for less

i hate that people are going to have to spend that kind of money

I know... the rates are crazy! We booked when they were still Wingate and have a rate of $149....
