The Long Island Marriott in Uniondale is fairly close.

I've never been to this Marriott, but I have a Marriott credit card and only stay in Marriotts. Honestly, I've never been disappointed. Also if their policies are similar to the farmingdale marriott, it's a win/win. The guests get a lower rate and you don't risk anything.

Jericho Terrace told me about a few they use. Hilton Garden Inn and La Quinta are the other two besides the Viana. But if that doesn't matter, I know the Hyatt is close, over by the DMV.

It's a good one..we've stayed here many times after coliseum events before I moved to LI and never had a problem...Only thing I will say is that they have an indoor pool and the rooms on that floor are always very humid..they get cool but are always damp so we always make sure we dont get those rooms

When FH & I went for a tour, they showed us around and everything was great, until we got into the guy explaining to us- that we were financially responsible for all rooms that were not booked- we want no part of that.

I was emailing back and forth with the guy for 2 weeks, and it was never mentioned to me either until I was there and I was really blown away that they do this. However, I called Hilton Garden inn (Westbury) and what a pleasure! The women Danielle went over everything with me, down to how much the rooms will be and said we're not financially responsible for a thing.

Re: Hotel Room Block
i was just told that if you block less than 15 rooms, there is no financial obligation, they just get released one month prior to event...more than 15 rooms and you have a 50% financial obligation...in other words you must have 50% of rooms booked by your guests or you will be responsible

Re: Hotel Room Block
There's a bunch by Roosevelt Field. I've never stayed at any but there's a Hilton Garden, Holiday Inn, Red Roof Inn, Hyatt Place Hotel, and then the Garden City Hotel and the Uniondale Marriott as others suggested.

was told this as well. It's if you book more then 15 you are responsible!
