Ugh, FH and I are looking at hotels to book blocks of rooms in near the Riviera but every one has really bad reviews - even the Hilton! Can anyone personally recommend any? We want one really nice and one moderately priced so our guests have a choice.
also, if we have a shuttle from the RH and back - does the hotel provide or do we? Is it an extra cost? We're trying to decide if we should or just have everyone drive.
Thanks for any suggestions!!!

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
The closet hotel to the riviera that I know is the Bar Harbour on Sunrise Highway. I've never stayed there personally, but my mom has made reservations there for speakers that come to Massapequa schools and she hasn't heard any complaints.
I have rooms booked at the hilton, but I would think that's a little far for your guests. Though there is the courtyard marriot that just opened on 110 in farmingdale.
as far as hotels offering shuttles, you would have to ask them that. i know the hilton offers two 11 passenger shuttles for a few hundred $$.
Sorry I couldn't be more help!

There is a recently renovated best western on sunrise highway. They are ok and affordable. It's not the Ritz but it serves it's purpose

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
the best western is the closest. we didn't want to go that route and want a bar, so we booked at the marriott in uniondale. not super close but there really aren't many options, and they have a bar and are close to the SSP.
they (Riviera) also suggested the Marriott Courtyard. I think we looked there and they were either $159 or $179 a night.

Im getting married there and Just went through this yesterday. I called the Marriot courtyyard in the Airport Plaze, that's were the Riviera said they have a free shuttle bus to and from the RH. HOWEVER..when I called yesterday they were booked through Oct!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I've been searching. But the Best Western BAr Harbour is 6 mins away. Im booking there. Inexpensive,,,just redone and my family and friends don't care what it really looks like. My reception ends at 1:00am so it's pretty late to try and enjoy the room. But that's the closests I've seen. You can hire shuttle buses for this. I've gotten quoted $625 and $500 from my limo company. Good Luck

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
That Best Western Bar Harbour got pretty bad reviews, and I THINK the rooms are all outside rooms. Just seems chintzy for wedding guests, IDK. Maybe it'll be the only choice left
the Courtyard looked great!! I'll have FH call, but thanks for the warning wifetobe! We don't have that much extra to rent transportation though! People can just drive Maybe that'll keep them from getting too drunk, too. Our reception will end late too but I'm expecting people to stay there wall weekend, since they'll be flying in!
We are going to try the Hilton Garden Inn because the other Hilton got bad reviews. Maybe I'm just being picky?? For me, it doesn't matter, but I don't want our guests to be stuck in a bad hotel room!
I'll have my guy check into the Mariott in Uniondale, thank you.
thank you all for the help!

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
FH and I are getting married at Jericho Terrace but we live in Massapequa. So after the recepetion, everybody is coming back to massapequa then we are going to the Melville Marriott. I've been there and it is AMAZING!!! The price they gave us for the rooms was AMAZING for a Marriott. I know plenty of people who stay there and they say nothing but good things about it. It's not that far from Massapequa otherwise we would have never considered it.

ok, looks like we're going with the hilton garden inn and the new marriott courtyard - if we get 20 rooms booked w/them, then the have a free shuttle yay!!! they are the only 2 who got back to us!!!

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
We got married at The Riviera on 2/29 and we used Courtyard Marriott in Farmingdale. It was stressful in the beginning but I have to say that our guests RAVED about everything there. They were also wonderful to me, my bridal party and my DH. I would recommend speaking with them. And the free shuttle is a great deal!!!!!!

Re: Hotels Near Riviera?
We just looked at the Best Western on Sunrise this past weekend and we're holding 10 rooms. It works for us because our guests are from out of state and I dont want anyone getting confused or lost and the price was awesome. We looked at the suites and they seem fine. People just need a place to sleep and I feel funny asking them to fork over extra money for Marriott. What you can do is list several area hotels and let the guests pick. We recently went to a wedding where I actually found a better rate on the web than the so called 'blocked off' room rate any way...
Caio Baby is right next door for any after partyin' we may want to do :)
