just curious .. Its hard to buy a home and have a wedding within the same yr for many but i know its feasible depending on the couple circumstances....
just wanted to get an idea of what others are currently doing /planning on doing

the plannnnnn is to buy a house this july...wedding next spring
we'll see what happens though... our lease is up in july and i reallllly do not want to live in a cramped apt any longer, we are busting at the seams!

We went into contract on a house before we were engaged, but got engaged right before closing. So, we bought the house first, and now are planning the wedding. Its alot, but well worth it

Cool.. im sure im not alone... my FH thinks we are doing it backwards... eg. spending over $25K+ for wedding and not buying a place right now.. but thats too much $$ and stress for us for right now..I think wedding + renting is just fine given our situation....

We would like to buy a house after the wedding. Married Aug 2010 Lease up oct 2010 (i can ask to extend it a few months) would like to start looking this summer and use our wedding money for a down payment.

we're hoping that we don't go over the budget and will have enough $ left over from savings plus money from gifts from the wedding to put as a down payment after the wedding.... but from the way that it's looking, i think we'll be renting sigh

Fh & I are paying for the wedding ourselves and we live in an apartment together now.
But my grandma was nice enough to offer to help us purchase a co-op after the wedding as our wedding gift.

Well... we want to hve a place for ourselves... we want to put more money into the House than the wedding.... We lookin at this in the Long term,...
So we are def. getting House first then wedding...
we rent a house from my parents right now for very cheap so we are fortunate in that aspect
after the wedding we will begin saving for a house

were having our wedding in july, renting for hopefully a year and then purchasing
im only 23, and just started working full time after graduating with my masters in may, so we just do not have a down payment right now
eta: we also dont live together yet-we wont until after the wedding

Fortunately for us, we bought a house 3 years ago. I couldn't imagine the stress of paying for a wedding and buying a house at the same time! I feel for those who are doing it!

Just wedding. It's definitely one or the other, but we will look to get a co-op or condo after the wedding as a 'Step up' to owning a house
