just curious .. Its hard to buy a home and have a wedding within the same yr for many but i know its feasible depending on the couple circumstances....
just wanted to get an idea of what others are currently doing /planning on doing

originally we were planning on buying a house after our wedding but we wound up finding a newly built home for a great price so we couldn't pass on it. We had planned a long engagement to help us to be able to save for the wedding of our dreams so in the long run that choice helped with our ability to buy our home. Also, the tax incentive for 1st time home buyers we got during our last yr of our engagement helped tremendously with our final payments!

we just bought a coop in september so lucky for us we were able to buy that and pay for the wedding

We closed on our house in October and got married in November....it was tough but very worth it.

FH & I are very fortunate that we have family members who are assisting us on both the wedding and house. If not there is NO way we could do both

We closed on our house 11-20-09 and we are getting married 11-20-10 :) We are mostly paying for the wedding our selfs with some help.... in some ways i wish we waited on either the house or the wedding, it is very stressfull! But we have our minds set on it and hopefully it all works out...

Were doing the wedding first b/c FH basically insists that if we don't....we probably will never have this money again to do it. He thinks I'll regret it. So.....the house will have to wait. We are already living together but....it would be nice to be homeowners...
Crossing my fingers for after the wedding. His mom has offered us money- verbally. Were not banking on it but were hoping that if we save enough on our own....her money will just go on top and help with a down payment for a house.

we are renting bur planning on using our wedding money for a down payment on a house, so we'll have to stick around her for another year or so

My FH and I are saving money and paying for our wedding in cash. Then whatever money we get from the wedding as a gift will go towards our down payment on a house. We put a bid on a house a little while ago but it was sold to a company who was going to flip it and make it more expensive. Good thing because then we would have had to put off the wedding. I guess everything happens for a reason.

Yeah, the school loans don't do wonders for your credit either. Couldn't buy a stupid car because no one would give me loan. My credit was good but my debt to income ratio ****** because of the student loans.
