House Update - Updated as of 1:20 pm Sunday

Ok, its 12:30 and i can't sleep. We put a bid in on a house and we're now waiting to hear.

The house needs MAJOR work....I can't fathom how these people are living in this house, its beyond gross. But FH is handy and Dad is a contractor so it didn't scare us. It has a ton of potential and I really feel like its our time. Bad thing is we put a bid in for a lot less than asking b/c of the shape it was in. I don't think they'll accept it but you never know.

To all the girls who wished me luck during my first 'good thoughts needed' post I thank you and am now hoping all your thoughts and prayers work!!!!

I'm going to attempt to get some sleep......wonder if FH is up worrying about it

Lots of luck we also bought a handyman special back in 2000 we also bid low,i did find it hard to live in a house that needs so much work we have already completed 3 bedrooms upstairs & if $$$$ allows we will do our bathroom next,buying a house likes this requires alot of patience,$$$,and tender loving care i hope you get what you want.

Hi girls,

Just got the call and we didn't get it.....someone outbid us

Looks like we'll have to wait longer to buy. The house was a mess, even my agent couldn't believe that the house got a full price offer on it. We just can't compete in our area. I am so fustrasted !!!!!

Thank you to all for your support. I think a nice dinner and a bottle of wine is a must for FH and myself tonight.

It just wasn't meant to be

Something else will come along and probably be bigger and better.

This happened to us about 10 times and are so glad it did because we wouldnt have the house that we have if those other deals had gone through!

Hang in there Lori, I just missed getting a home that I had already paid an engineer to look at and was planning to go to contract in a few days and someone out bid us!!! It happens to the best of us, you have to hang in there. The market is slow now and will pick up very soon.

Wow, DrJenn - that is crazy!!!

We've been looking on and off for 2 years so it is just so fustrating with both of us living at home to save money. We really thought we'd be in something by now. We've been outbid a million times, houses have fallen through....its getting to be stressful b/c we don't want to rent.

I know things will work out but its been a long road that I'd love to see an end to shortly.
