Ok, I know we've discussed this before, but never with a poll. I thought it would be really interesting to see how everything pans out.
FH and I had an extra long engagement so that we could save money, and pay for everything up front. Nothing wrong with paying on credit, it's just not for us.

About 2 months after we got engaged, we opened up a joint account. We have money directly deposited into it every week.
It's been about 7/8 months now and everything we've booked, can be paid for - with a bit left over. We're saving for the HM and our rings...and a house right now.
It really isn't as bad as I thought it would be - we haven't stressed about anything and don't anticipate any (money) stress. The best thing we could have done was open that account and start DD.

fh and i are paying for most of the wedding. we are not taking out any loans or putting anything on credit cards, we are paying everything with cash or check. both sets of parents are paying for some things, but were paying most.

We're paying for everything (cash). Opened a joint checking account when we got engaged- deposit money every paycheck and wala . I don't think we'll have much left over after all is said and done .
We didn't want to go into debt paying for a wedding on loans and credit cards.

Parents gave us large generous gifts that we deposited into a savings account which is combined with our money now. We will pay for the wedding in cash from that account.

We payed for everything 100% money we scrimped and saved for...lol! It wasn't easy, but it was SO worth it!

My parents are going to contribute $7000 which is great because any money is a big help. His parents are paying for flowers. Everything else will be up to us. I'm paying some things with cash, some with credit card. I do hope that anything that goes on the credit card is paid off before our wedding, so we don't have to worry about it.

We are paying for everything before the wedding! We waited awhile to get enaged so that we could afford everythign with no debt and have a shorter engagement!

My parents are paying for the hall, invitations and other things that FH's parents aren't paying for. They are paying for band, flowers and photographers. It works out pretty even.

My mom is buying me my dress. Everything else, we are paying for ourselves. We had a 2 year engagment and opened a joint account and each put a certain amount of money in each month. By next Sept, we should have the wedding paid for and enough left over for a down payment!

We are paying everything with cash, also. about 3 months after getting engaged, we opened a joint saving account, and every week we deposit money. When the time comes to make all our final payments, all the money will be there. We did not want to go into debt to have our wedding.

I pute that we are paying for it, but my FMIL is paying for everyone she invites (that is AWESoME) and my mom is giving us $3000 for the hall..and she threw us a beautiful engagement party...

I can't vote because my situation is not there. My parents are paying for the reception and my gown. FH parents are paying for the DJ and the Rehearsal dinner. We are paying for everything else. We are paying by cash and credit cards that will *hopefully* be paid off by the time the wedding comes.

Since you won't be using them, I'm paying for the wedding with your credit cards.
FH and I are paying for everything ourselves (mostly him, since he makes much more than I do right now). His parents have each promised us some money, but until it's in my greedy little hands, I'm not counting on anything (although I know his mom is good for it and would never offer it without meaning it).

I know, isn't this a horrible feeling to have? I am EXACTLY the same way. His parents have offered to pay for a few things, and I know that they're good for it, but I mean, until I see that green, I'm not counting it in our budget. If anything, it will make us save more, just in case.
Sorry about my bad poll, I guess I should have had another option, since it seems that a lot of people have parents who pay for some things, and then the B&G pay for the rest. That's the situation we're in actually, but the bulk of the wedding is being paid for by us.
