we are having a October Friday afternoon reception... if we want, we can head to the city for an after-party... if not, we'll have the rest of the weekend to celebrate... (without all the hoopla)

and bargaining/bartering with your vendors..

Nothing. FH is groomzilla!

I MAY DIY my invitations, escort cards, etc.

I'm hoping we don't spend a fortunate on flowers either. Last major vendor where we can save some moolah!

I'm not doing things peole won't miss... programs, matchbooks, etc. I'm cutting back on flowers, invites and keeping limos as simple as possible. I'm also trying my best not to go ONE PERSON over my 150 person guarantee.

I'll help you do your invites if you want! I'm figuring out how to do them.

I'm doing a Sunday night wedding. These are usually even cheaper than Friday night! Other than that, I'm not sure yet. I'm trying to stick to the budget as much as possible. This is becoming nearly IMPOSSIBLE!!

Well fall weddings are not cheap- just cheaper than the summer or spring imo -since most of the places i went to were pretty high in the spring

-we chose a hall that we could afford, even though we loved a more expensive one
-we went cheap on invites and got a DIY kit at michaels. People are only going to throw them away.
- no slipper baskets, cocktail napkins, etc
-luckily i fell in love with a dress from DB
-got my veil and accessories at DB since no one will know the difference
-ETA got my DOJ on super sale at Kohls!

No bridal party and just scratched the STD's. we have to much family, and want to keep our hall at 250 not 400. so hopefully some of them make plans, so we are not sending anymore std's. ( i know, it's a bit mean) but when i alone have 52 first cousins and 22 aunts and uncles (plus spouses) its kind of SUCKS... and his fam is just as big...

trying to DIY as much as possible
made a budget in the beginning and we're trying to stick to it as much as possible...although 2 out of the 3 things we booked are over-budget...somehow I think this whole budget thing isn't going to work....
