Currently FH and I are on a pay as you go .. but I have a strong feeling this will backfire towards the end ....... I really would like to start saving however its a little hard since we have so much on our plates.

We are saving almost our entire paychecks each week. We are paying for the entire wedding and honeymoon ourselves except for my dress and veil (my mom bought that for me).

We paid off the RH 6 months in advance.
Everything else, we just pay when the bill comes.
Just us, no help from anyone.

Our honeymoon too - which is almost the same cost as our reception hall

My parents gave us a gift to use as we wished- take a trip, but it towards a down payment, whatever.
FH wanted a decent sized wedding (I soooo did not). His parents wrote us a smaller check to help with the wedding since we are all living in different places, so getting together and divvying up vendors is next to impossible! They basically gave us up front what they gave for his brother's wedding 6 years ago.
We used that total and set that as our budget. We will pay for the Honeymoon with savings (each month I save and put it in ING. Fh is in grad school with no income!) We will finance HMoon ourselves and probably a few things like favors, etc. I am eating the invites, he is doing the DJ...but the major items are coming from the original budget ($22,000)
He gets his signing bonus in August, so I'm not too freaked out about finances. I will also be Craigslisting my entire apt in the weeks before the wedding. I figure that will cover the tips!

we both have $ that is automatically taking out of our paycheck and put into a savings account and i work a 2nd job on the weekends...all about save save save since we will be paying for 90% of our wedding

Our current trend is to pay as we go but we REALLY need to start putting money aside each month! (I now have it in my mind to set up automatic withdrawls from my pay check into an account tomorrow that I hardly use). Its just ben VERY hard to save for the wedding because house related expenses keep coming up!! Like how we have an escrow defict and need to put an extra $400 into our escrow accout by december to cover 2011 taxes :( UGH
And we aren't getting any help from our families so its tough trying to save!! Just remember you still get your 2010 tax return next year; maybe use some od that $$ to pay off your balances!

we opened a joint account togeteher, and put money in each week. plus we put our engagement party presents in there as well.
my mom is paying for my dress and day of accesories and jewelery.
thats about it, unless we need help in the end, we will ask for it.. but we are trying to do it on our own..

umm i started putting money aside each week in the ING - then we had our tax return... so that helped a lot.. now we are hoping for another nice return in april! thats about it! haha
FH is working side jobs so we can still go out on teh weekends and stuff... but we are hoping for the best lol

FH and I are paying for it on our own. We have a joint account that we put money aside in every month (we've been doing it for a few months now) - that along w/ the tax return should hopefully get us to where we need to be. I have a budgeting spreadsheet that I've been using for some time that shows how much we have to save a month to be in a good spot. So far so good, unless something happens!

PAying as we go, which I think we will be fine with at the end. We may come up short by a few thousand, which will then have to go into our savings for. But we are paying everything 100% ourselves, no help from anyone,.
