I quit smoking a few months back, so the $50 a week or so that i would be spending on smokes is now going into an ING account for the Wedding.
My parents SAY they will help....but i'm not counting on it. I really wanna be the only person to have any say on the wedding (along with FH), so i rather pay for it all on my own!

We are essentially paying as we go. However FH does have a large enough savings that we would be OK. Myself however, well this is the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I am NOT living paycheck to paycheck. I'm putting aside a little bit each pay, plus I like scratchers (I know, bad habit) but any winning ticket goes into our savings box (in less than a month already $300 in there, and much less than that spent on the scratchers). Also, mom paying for dress, engagement party too (hopefully get some $$ then). Grandparents give big gifts of $$ every year for Christmas, so that will likely pay for a vendor. We are trying to save up for a house too... I therefore would definitely need to be saving more than I am. I have volunteered for a lot of over time at my office (which I am one of 3 allowed to work OT) so I'm trying to get about 5 hrs in each week..... Good Luck! If FH wasn't so good with his $$$ we'd be !

We are trying to set aside money each week, but that isnt working well so we are paying as we go. I am scared to see what is going to happen when it gets closer

We are putting away a certain amount of money each month, we also got alot of very generous gifts at our engagement party which we put right into our savings. Basically saving every penny we can and building up our savings.

I am blessed to say my parents paid for 90% of the wedding and we are paying for the rest as we go.

My parents are covering the RH which is huge!

FILs plan to contribute some.

We have/will pay the rest.

We decided on a longer engagement for this reason. We'll be engaged 2 1/2 years when we get married. we also booked on a Thursday. I wanted a year earlier but FH assured me it would be less pressure and be here before I knew it..well here it comes! lol Then my parents surprised us and when we were about to book our RH said they would do it for us. My dad actually sat me down and told me, he knows I have wanted this place since I was a little girl and he and my mom wanted to do this for me. FH and I are so grateful this definitely was a tremendous help.

FH and I are both still living at home (super traditional but it works in our favor!)

We're saving money on rent and most food... etc... We both still help out at home financially but for the most part everything we're making we're saving in a joint account.

2 jobs each for approximately 70 hours per week for each of us. In all fairness though we DO live almost 3 hours apart and are still living at home which is why we have 'extra' time to work and don't really have any other costs besides our individual bills. We just save save save!

But if it makes you feel better we are paying for the ENTIRE thing ourselves and gosh darn proud of it!! Haha

FH started saving for about a whole year before he proposed, so we had a pretty big “nest egg” to begin with.

But we’ve both been putting aside about 2/3 of our salary each month into the “wedding account” – a joint account we opened once we got engaged. We’re lucky enough that we can put that much b/c we both live at home and have minimal bills (e.g. just cell phone, gas, train ticket, food, etc. – nothing major like rent or car insurance).

My parents are giving us enough to cover photography and flowers. So far his parents haven’t “stepped up” with anything but we’ll see. And my Grandmother bought my gown and veil. My sister wants to buy my shoes (SCORE!).

I’ve been very fortunate, but it’s difficult because we would really like to close on a house shortly before or after our wedding as well.

We’ll see!

Since we are footing the bill 100% of ourselves, we are definitely paying as we go, and saving as we go.

MY GH and I are saving 900 every month and we should be covered and then have some left over. so we're pretty happy with that payment planwe have set up for ourselves. We're also going to the hall every month to leave those 900 so we don't spend it lol

I think when everything is said and done, we'll probably have split the cost 3 ways between my parents, FH's parents, and our contribution.

Our parents are splitting the cost of the RH which is a HUGE help! and my parents are also paying for my dress.

FH and I are paying for all of the vendors ourselves (photography, band, limos, flowers, invities, etc)

We set up an ING account just for the wedding. FH is putting 1k a month in there and I am doing 500. By the end - we should have the money for the RH. HOPEFULLY!!!

Our parents are giving us enough to pay for the reception... we're taking care of everything else. My mom is paying for half of my dress... It's definitely been stressful, especially since FH is still in school!!!

Combination of things!

FH and I are moving as much as we can into out 'wedding account' every week. I'm lucky enough to make frequent bonuses so all that $$ goes right into the 'wedding accont'

My mom is buying my dress and FH's parents are paying for our STD's and invites.

Our friends haven't seen us in a while haha since we're being so frugal but it will all be worth it!!
