I know most places give one.... but I happened to find a place I like that doesn't and the FH is giving me grief.

hmmm...i always assumed that most, if not all places gave you the cake. i think you should try to negotiate. i don't know if that $95 includes tax and everything but then you have to add on extra $$$ for cake pp i would say something, it should be included for that amount of money.

Ah - now the FH and the brides of LI are laughing at me....
Nah - I guess it is pretty funny that love the one hall out of 21 that we've seen that 'doesn't usually do dessert.' Thats what they told me. Maybe I should say then we just don't 'do tips.'
BTW - its the Old Field Club in Setauket. I don't think they need the business....

Call the vendor and negotiate in a cake! Like if they offer shtuff you are not going to use, tell them to give you a cake instead. We are paying $130 per head and we get a free cake. I told them I did not want a venetian hour and instead I wanted a pretty tasty cake, like in the shape of a Tiffany's box, lol. No problem...done.

Ask them what the serving costs would be if you brought in an outside cake. A few brides here had their reception at Old Field, maybe they can tell you how they handled it.
