How bad is this?

So I am considering creating a 'fake' registry - for a flat screen tv that me and FH want to get when we move next year......if we register for it, we can get the completion discount of 10%

I know that no one will get it for us because it is so expensive and I will have a really small shower (maybe 20 people)....

is it really bad to register just to get the discount at the end?

I'm feeling a little guilty...but then again, who cares?

I think it's OK so long as there are plenty of other reasonably-priced items on the registry, and that the TV is the only really expensive item.

It's possible you may also receive gift cards from the store as gifts, which you can apply to the TV.

i say do it. we registerd for the iJoy chair even though i know we wont get it. i want one so bad and they are the same price everywhere so i hope to use the discount to buy it.

my brother resistered for a %5,000 statue on his just to be funny so i dont see a problem with it.

I wouldn't feel bad either-- I was thinking about it for furniture too!
One tip for the flat screen- my FH was reading that they're coming out with laser tv's at the end of the year which are supposed to be cheaper than the flat screens and more or less replacing that technology...

go for it!!! FH almost registered for a 3,000 barbaque even tho he knew no one would buy it for us but he just wanted the discount lol

We put a 45 cent whisk on our registry. FH was funny- he says-oh, your cheap Aunt and Uncle now have something they can buy....lol
