Okay, so here we are in the end of April and no shower. Lots of things have been purchased off the registry, but it doesn't look like it is coming soon.
Next weekend I have two parties to go to, so it is not then, the weekend after is Mother's Day, so I don't think it will be then. The weekend after that I have already told my mother my plans and she never told me we (as a family) have plans.
When I was telling my mother I was excited about stuff coming off my registry, she made some comment about how scheduling has been tough and my shower was going to be AFTER my wedding and she laughed.
What is going on? The presents have been purchased! What are they waiting for????
By the way, I am getting married June 20th!!

Mine was yesterday!! Don't worry your time will come. My cousin is getting married the week after me and her shower isn't until May 22. So, you never know when it will be. But it is so much fun when it happens. I had a blast!!

My shower was about 1 month before the wedding. It was April 10th. The wedding is May 14th.
You could be being tricked with the 'parties'

They did that to me. I got an invitation to my uncle's b-day party. Everyone was talking about what to wear and what to get him, I had no clue!

Yes they would. I received this invitation for the communion this weekend - months ago. The direction card and all. They let me purchase a card and FI even wrote out a check to put in the card. I 100% was tricked! It could be one of those parties!!!

Well one party is 6PM on Saturday and I highly doubt that is it. The other is 1PM on Sunday... Hmmm....

Do you have any details on the parties? Is one maybe for an aunt you haven't seen in 20 years lol. They may be trying to get you somehow. Don't worry though the shower will be here before you know it!!

I agree!!!!
Mine will be close to my wedding as well, because I have to send for my granny and aunt from Arizona, I REALLY want them there and my family all knows this, so it would probably be a few weeks before the wedding.

The 6PM Saturday party is a surprise 30th birthday party for my MOH's husband. It is being held in the Fire House that his brother belongs to, which is where MOH's MIL's surprise 60th birthday party was held.
The 1PM Sunday party is a confirmation party for a woman who FH, my mom, and I teach with at night. She has been talking about this for a while and she even told us what type of dress her daughter found and her daughter is the right age to be making confirmation.It is being held someplace I have never heard of.
Both invitations came with directions and both affairs seem legitimate.
Maybe my mother was only half kidding about my shower being after my wedding. Maybe with so many things going on, she had to push it closer to the wedding than she originally wanted.
Also, if she is having it where she once mentioned (Duck Pond Inn) she may be waiting for the weather to warm up...
I am getting antsy!!

My shower was 4/4/04 and my wedding is 6/12/04 so a little more than 2 months. I was completely tricked by the old 'it's really another party you think you are going to' scam!
