Just wondering how everyone chose their special day.
I chose mine because I knew I wanted to get married in the summertime and since we got engaged in July I chose the day before our one year engagment anniversary. This way on our honeymoon we can go back to the spot (we got engaged in Disney World!) and relive the moment

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
Oneof my favorite holidays is July 4th. But being our honeymoon would be leaving on a Saturday we chose the 2nd. My cousin got married on the 3rd of July and I thought it was such a beautiful time.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
We knew we wanted a friday night in Sept. but weren't picky about the date. There were 2 left, the 1st friday of the month and the 24th. We picked the 24th!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
I wanted a month where the weather was neither too hot or cold. Plus the long weekend for OOT made Memorial Day weekend the best bet for us.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
A favorite story I like to tell: We picked our day because it was the least expensive, but it turned out that it was my aunt and uncles wedding anniversary, and that my mother met my father at their wedding!!!!!!!!! It was FATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think My father set it up like that from heaven. Sounds corny I know.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
Our anniversary of meeting is in Sept. but I always wanted to get married around a holiday, not to mention cheap vendor Sunday rate prices.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
FH is in law school and since he's going to summer school we only had a 4 week period to get married.

The fall is my favorite season! We originally wanted Ocrober but it was all booked so, we chose November 5. Close enough

1) Best price 2) Odd and different day (I like being different!) 3) I am a teacher so it had to be summer!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
The fall is our favorite time of year. We love the weather and the trees, etc. So it seemed like October would be great for us. In addidtion we love Halloween so 10/29 seemed perfect!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
We had a small window to work with really. . . fiance is a teacher so that pretty much narrowed us down to the summer(since we want to go on a honeymoon) and his son goes back to school in mid-August (lives in FL) and fiance's sister is gettng married in June. Did not want to spoil her day.(Liz - hi!) So we kind of landed on the first week of August.
Which is great for us! It really couldn't have fallen at a better time!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
Wish my story was cute or meaningful... mine is just sick
Aug is my bday Sept labor day break Oct EMPTY (wedding/anniversary) Nov thanksgiving break December Xmas January break (new years/etc) February Valentines March Jimmy's Bday
So Every other month Jim is giving me a gift!! hehe We didnt want a summer wedding, we didnt want a Winter wedding. Spring & Fall were left. Spring is Tax Season and Jim is a wreck so Fall season was chosen, plus it meant less waiting (either Fall 2004 or Spring 2005) since Spring 2004 was way too early (so we thought)
The date......
WELL... I took a look at the calendar and counted out my periods. I chose the weekend AFTER my period so Id be alright for the day of and the honeymoon. heh
Oct 23, 2004 (10/23/04) or as my best friend figured out 1...23....4 (with 2 Zeros to represent the two rings of marriage)
Then I couldnt wait and married him last year on Oct 23, 2003.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
I always wanted a fall wedding and Nov was a little cheaper than October . But We didn't want to get too far into Nov because we knew some of our OOT guest may have to pay $$$ for plane tickets during Thanksgiving so we picked the first Friday in Nov.

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
We got engaged July 1 and wanted an engagement of no more than one year. So, that summer and fall were out - too soon. Winter is too cold. Basically, we were working with April, May or June. May didn't work (allergies - we both have 'em). April was my first choice, but FH is in a training program at work that ends sometime in April. So, that left us with June. We worked with hall and church availability, worked around Father's Day and there you go!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
LIJUNEBRIDE that is funny because we got engaged in July and wanted an engagemnt of less than on year! April was my first choice but didnt work with the hall so it was either May or June and for some unknown we picked June 26th! We will be engaged exactly 11 months that day and while on our honeymoon we will celebrate our 5 year dating anniversary!

Re: How did everyone choose their wedding date?
We got engaged last July and I too did not want to be engaged for longer than a year.
FH and I both really wanted a fall wedding but we are both teachers so it just made sense to get married in the summer...this was the last date available, so now it is ours.
