I love shoes. We had talked about a pair of shoes I saw on NineWest web site. They were high heels 'gold' with sequins. He told me that a friend at work had discounts for Nine west but the pair that I liked was not available anymore and he got me 'something else'. I am thinking 'what the heck did he give me?'. I am so scared when people buy me shoes, clothes or jewerly.
Anyway, I open the box and see those shoes with 'bead things' on top. Of course, I say 'I would have never picked those' (FH had actually anticipated me saying that... he knows me too well!!). But being nice, I try the right foot. Now... I am trying to walk with that one shoe (don't know why!) in the living room. I tell him 'I really like those shoes'. Then I proceed to go to the next shoe and guess what I found. A liitle jewerly box. I open it (still only wearing a right high heel shoe only) and saw the ring. Hug FH! He then asked. I said yes.... then realized I am holding on to him for balance. Proceeds to try the 2nd shoe.
His plan: buy a pair of hoochie mama pair of ugly shoes, put the ring in the shoe, propose, return the pair of shoe
What happened: buy a pair of shoe: $80 E-ring: $??? Keep the pair of shoes and see his face: priceless

I had an idea it was going to happen and we were going out to eat in Port Jeff at____ that really really nice place and when I walked in his apartment he was standing there waiting and said, 'So you wanna get married?'

i was getting my hair done for my cousin's sweet 16. he hears me open the first door. he gets into position. i open the s econd door, and i see him on one knee. i saw what are u doing on the floor. i t hen notice the ring. i was surprised. he told me when the time would happen, he wouldn't go on one knee since he has bad knees. and we just had lunch together and i had no hunch. he decided during lunch that this was the day he would propose

we went down to a tulip festival. there are a few pics below to help you understand what it was about, juts picture that pic times about 10 more fields like that! tulips are my favourite flower and he knows this!
i knew it was coming, b/c i helped pick out the ring. he starts sniffing (i was like w t f is up with him!) a few tulips later and he calls me over to say, smell this one, it really is nice. inside the tulip was my ring and he got down on his knee and asked. and here i am on LIW.
DH actually asked me to marry him in June of '04. I accepted and he said that by November 1st I'd have a ring because he wanted to save and get a really nice one. I said I was okay with it, but then I was like how in the world am I going to keep my sanity until November 1st?
On Sunday, August 1st I drove to his house so we could go to church together. He wasn't completely ready (as usual). He told me he would give me a teddy bear when we got back from church because I had had such a hard week at work. I told him I wanted the teddy bear before we went to church. So he goes in the bedroom and gets it.
Unbeknownst to me, he hit 'record' on his video camera and then walks over and gives me the teddy bear. I hug the teddy bear and see the ring on the ribbon around the teddy bear's neck and start screaming. (I'm a nut.) He gets down on one knee and proposes (again). (The whole 'November 1st' thing was to throw me off.)
I accepted, and yesterday was our 1 year anniversary.

little background first- DH and i had a long distance dating relationship, and only saw each other on the weekends.. SO... one saturday morning, i had to take the praxis test for my speech therapy license. so he says ' instead of not seeing you, i'll come and just hang out on campus while you take the test, and then i'll take you out to lunch'. so i finish the test, we got out to lunch, the mall, drive around, then its dinner time, so he takes me out to dinner. now, this was all at my college near AC and ocean city, NJ... so after we eat, he decides he wants to take a ride to ocean city to 'walk' on the boardwalk ( mind you, its january and freezing!!!) so, we go to the boardwalk, its dark and no one is around, and he gets down on one knee and asks me

i went over to his apartment and he had the lights out with candles lite and rose petals all over the floor. he was down on one knee and asked if i would marry him. oh and he was playing 'how deep is your love' - beegees. i thought it was cute!

i was totally surprised he proposed on christmas eve @ my house - FH bought me a jacket for christmas and hid the ring in the pocket. so when i opened the jacket - he knew i would throw it on and of course i did and felt a big box in the pocket. i remember thinking 'is he so lazy that he didnt want to wrap these earrings?' - but once i saw the box i realized what was happening.
he barely spit out 'marry me?' before everyone in the house caught on too - so i barely got to answer between the jumping and excitement of everyone else.
