So I was thinking about my proposal and was wondering how everyones elses went. Here are my details below:
12/15/06 we went to NYC to see the tree do some shopping and some other festivities and I was SURE he was going to do it that day. After all my mom said it was ok tht I was going with greg and not with her too. (which was me actually breaking plans with her....so I thought maybe she knew something) We spent the day in NYC and finally got to the tree and nope,,, never happened. UGHHHHHH, so at dinner he knew I was upset and asked why, and I was a littloe tipsy told him I hated him, and he got my hopes up!! YIKES
so 10 days later on christmas in a shirt box undedr the tree was a card tht stated 'I dont want you to remember christmas as being in the hospital, lets remember it like this.....' (last year I had to have an emergancy apendecomy on x-mas eve and wasin the hospital for 5 days)
when I looked up he was holding the box with the ring that he bought a week after thanksgiving... So he had the ring when we went to the city, he just wanted me to have a special chrismas!!!!

It was our first night on our cruise, we went to dinner with everyone and then after they all went to a show or whatever but we didnt want to go. He said he wanted to go on the deck just relax and go look at the stars and all that. So first we went back to the room because we wanted to change in more comfortable clothes.
THe problem was that when going back to our rooms we went out on the 6th floor deck to get to the other side, well anyways we saw it was overcast and there were NO STARS out hahaha...we get back to the room, and we both wanted to lay down for a little after a big meal...I put the tv on and its the episode where Ross and Joey propose to Rachel lol, so we were watching that...Then i knew something was up with him and i kept bothering him saying i know somethings wrong what is going on lol...Then he kept telling me to hurry up and get ready so we can still go out on the deck but i was tired and lazy lol...So yeah after constantly asking whats wrong, and watching a show with people proposing, he just finally got up and was like OK I CANT WAIT ANYMORE...i see him go get something, but the thing is that he didnt know i knew that he had named a star after me, so that is what i expected it to be. But then i see whats in his hands and i am like OMG wait thats a ring box and thats when i started screaming lol...It was a real nice moment we had, he was so cute he could barely speak and he was crying. He also did the star thing and then after gave me that.
His plan was to go on the deck he also brought on the trip the ipod stereo portable thing and he was gonna play this andrea bocelli song the star song lol forgot the actual name of it, and then point out a star in the sky in the direction my star was give me my star and then propose, but me being a pain i pushed him to do it before that ahahahahahah

During Christmas of '05 FH asked me what I wanted and I said 'a ring' I even took him all over showing him what I like.
Valentine's Day 2/14/06
He promised me that I would love my gift. When I show up to his house there's nothing. No flowers. No chocolates. Not even a card. So we hop on the train and hed to Penn. We are running late with no reservations in NYC. As we walk around looking for a restaurant I point out all the men carrying BoKs obviously for there sweeties and the women who already recieved them. We find a nice Italian/Pizzaria (it was nice not a typical pizzaria). I pay. We get to the theater. Phantomof the Opera is my favorite play and has been our thing for V-day for a few years now. By this point I'm catching on... During intermission the lights go on, the crowd rushed for the bathroom. Fh gets up, pulls the box out of his pocket and get's down on one knee.... It gets better... he says 'Hey Mel, wanna ring?' Very funny. The whole evening was very fitting for us!!! But he better come up with something better for our vows.

He wanted to have it announced overhead but they couldn't do it. I was like thank goodness! I don't need everyone looking at me!

His friend was throwing him a 'surprise' birthday dinner at our favorite restaurant. I got a call one day and was asked to get together a guest list and to be sure to invite some of my friends. Well none of my friends could come and so I told the friend that. One night my FI came to meet me at work. He mentioned to one of my good friends that I work with that we were having a small dinner for his birthday and that she should come with her BF. I didnt think anything of it. Well anyway the night came for the surprise party and we got picked up by my FI friend and his GF. We arrived at the party and he acted surprised when he saw everyone. (my friend was there too) We sat down to eat and the friend that threw the party thanked everyone for coming. So Brian decided he needed to thank everyone. He went on a long rant about friendship and things like that and then proceeded to tell everyone he knew about the party. Well of course everyone turned to look at me and so I had to defend myself. But he went on to say that he knew because he had planned it with his 'best man'. Well thats when his friend took out the ring and Brian got down on one knee and proposed. I was in such shock, it took me about 2 minutes to reply. We have the whole thing on tape

it was the weekend of our 6 year anniversary. So FH planned the whole thing. We went to the city and went to see a play. then after he asked if I wanted to go for a carriage ride through central park ( I always bugg him that i want to go) So I said yes! then as were looking for parking we couldn't find anything so I told him forget it. Usally he would say ok and go home. But not that day. he kept looking so I kinda knew something was up. So we finally found a sapce and went for our ride. right by the carousel he took out the ring and asked me!!! I said yes of course!!!!

We headed into the city to go see the tree and go ice skating for the first time!!..The line for ice skating was sooo long and usually he HATES waiting on line...and he said 'today I am going to be patient'..hehe..so we waited for like an hour and a half..and as we were online we saw 2 ppl get proposed..and i was like OMG that is so cute, but i guess its too late for us now!!...hes like wow i never would have thought of this..and as we ice skate 3 more people get engaged and i say 'i wonder how many more' and thats when he said 'one more' and got down on his knee in the ice and proposed!!! it was soooo cuteeeeeee!!!! Then of course i had to get off the ice bc my legs were shkaing!! ...we made phone calls and then went out to dinner!!..It was amazing!

Feb 17,2005 We were at my Aunt & Uncles house celebrating my mothers birthday. I gave my mother her gift then James was like wait I have something. I looked at him like you got my mother something also, but then he got down on one knee & said a bunch of stuff. I have no idea what he said. I was in such shock my mother had to hit me in the back because I like stopped breathing. It was so nice because all of my family was around to see the most special moment in my life.

it was just weird bc he talks ALOT and is VERY social, and it all just hit me then at night how quiet he was ALL DAY since early in the morning when we left, i was like that is so unlike him, is he ok?

LOL,,, my BM Lisa was with her now FH in the city going to Serendipity. That morning he didnt finish his bagel and she thought it was odd,, she said he was a little 'off' all day and then when they got to Serendipity he was waiting in the line to fet in for over a hour, he couldnt wait anymore and finally proposed outside the place! LOL,,, she said they never actually even went in!

I kind of had an idea that he was going to propose because my father was pacing my aunts house & he kept looking out the window till James came & also when James got there he had this smile on his face that he never had before. Even though I had an idea I was still in shock & it left me speechless.
