How did he POP the big Q?

Thought it would another fun one to discuss!! My Fh wanted to take a drive to Hecksher State Park. we'd go for walks there all the time... Anyway this time, we took a walk down by the water where he suggested we look for rocks... after starting my search, I turned around, and couldn't see him right away because he was down on one knee... That was all I needed and I started crying right away... I found a really good rock that day!

Awww!! That's so sweet!!! My FH took me out for a really nice dinner, we went to One If By Land which was decorated beautifully for Christmas! We splurged & had caviar, champagne, an excellent dinner, then right before dessert came, we got down on one knee & I was like 'Oh my God!!!' I think I turned about five shades of red, i was so embarrased, I was like 'Get up, get up, everyone's looking' so he proceeded to tell me that I've made him the happiest man alive and how much he loves me and he wants to spend the rest of his life making me as happy as I made him' so with tears in my eyes I said 'YES!!!' So I had the GREATEST b'day gift ever!!!!

My FH is very corny, but sweet. I take Karate classes with one of my best friends and she was spending the night with us becuase we had a Karate test the next day and she wanted my help with some of the routine that we needed to do to move to the next level.

We were practicing and she did the routine and asked if it was OK. I said it was fine, and my FH said that her punches were not aimed correctly and I should look again. She then punched in my direction and I noticed something sparkling in her hand. It was my ring! Once I noticed the ring he proposed. I tease him all the time saying I had a joint proposal and I should marry my friend instead of him.

We were at Nick D'Angelo's on a Friday night.. I was all psyched cause I thought we were going to have a night alone to ourselves and what not...so we have dinner, drink a couple bottles of wine and he was acting all weird with this stupid smile on his face all night lol

he ordered his dessert and out comes his brownies and then the waiter goes, and this is for you and he places this huge plate on my side of the table.. I was like I didn't order anything.. then when I looked down, and in chocolate sauce it read 'will you marry me?' with a red box on top!! I thought he had the wrong table!! I was soo embarassed! lol , I was in SHOCK, I just sat there with my mouth opened and he said, 'So Marcella, Will you marry me?' and I was like of course I will, then he goes, well, don't you want to see the ring? lol I was like oh yeah, the ring lol

everyone cheered and they lit up sparklers and brought out champagne and strawberries.. the biggest surprise was that both our families had been waiting for us in the bar area!!! it was great!

Oh I should add that FH's original idea was to propose at the Yankee's opening home game (the following week) on the scoreboard, but he was soo anxious that he wanted to do it right away, he said that the suspense would have killed him, so would have I lol

We were on vacation on Maui.
He watied two nights to propose during a beautiful sunset. The second night still no great sunset, he couldn't wait any longer.
We walked out to a spot overlooking the ocean and he said,'You know I love you very much' and I said, ' I love you too, honey'. Totally casual no idea!
Then he said,' No, I really love you.' and got on one knee and said 'Will you marry me?' and I couldn't believe it was finally happening. (we dated 9 years) we both hugged and cried and of corse I said yes!
We went for a gourmet dinner afterward and ordered Dom Perignon to celebrate. Funny coincidence, the champagne vintage was the year we started dating!
We are going back to Maui for out honeymoon.

In front of Saint Patrick's Cathedral in NYC after we got off from a horse carriage ride (It was 12/15/2001 and we had gone to spend the night having dinner and seeing the tree). He said a few beautiful words and then got on one knee. I was so SURPRISED. After a few moments of hysterical crying I finally said YES!!!! He had his friend secretly tape it and I have the whole thing on video. A crowd of like 100 people gathered around us and staring clapping and cheering (and some were even crying ) The city was PACKED 10 days before christmas and we were smack in the middle of the action. VERY MEMORABLE!!!!!!!

We were on a vacation in Colorado and he popped the question when we went to Seven falls waterfall. We had to climb all the way to the top of the falls and when we got up there he called me over I thought he wanted to take a picture of the two of us together but then he got on one knee and started to ask me. I got sooo happy and started to feel a little weak in the knees and then started saying yes!!! It was a really beautiful spot with a beautiful view of the mountains.

I was visiting my FH in Florida Memorial Day weekend, and we were cuddling late one night and I asked him how he felt about me, and he told me he loved me, he wanted me to move down to live with him, and that he wanted me to be his wife and the mother to his children

But he is formally going to propose around my birthday when Im going to be getting my sapphire and diamond Engagement Ring

ok mine was kind of dorky, but great... it was valentines day 2001.. and i was driving to his house at the time... we were planning on going to dinner, but i was sick with a flu, so we were going to just play it by ear... by the time i got there.. he lived in NJ ( now i do too!) i was really sick, fever, sneezing, the whole thing.. so we decided to cancel dinner... i got changed into my shorts and sweatshirt.. and we said ok we will exchange our presents... he came up with a box of roses.. i was all happy, and then i notice on one of the roses and huge sparkly thing..LOL.. i said oh no.. do you have the right flowers...LOL.. as i turned to him and said that, he had tears in his eyes, and he said, will you be my wife.....

WOW!! i said of course, tossed the roses, and said let me see that ring!!!LOLOLOL.. i will just always remember that i was so sick and looking, well, sick, and he still wanted to marry me!!

We had talked about getting married for a while, but my FH was waiting to get called for the FDNY. He kept saying, 'we'll get married once I get in the fire department'. I think he felt that that was when he would be settled into his 'real' job. On the day he graduated from the FDNY academy, I was so impatient! I was like where is my ring! So we go to graduation, out to lunch, then we come home, take naps, and go out and get Taco Bell. I was setting up to watch a movie at liek 10:30 at night (thinking oh well, I guess today's not the day!!) and he comes out wearing his hat to his formal uniform. I'm like yeah you're cute. So he says you put it on. So I do, and then he says the badge (on the front of the hat) is loose. So I looked and the ring was in between the hat and the badge! I didn't even cry, I was just so HAPPY!!!

My FH proposed after we returned from a trip to Las Vegas. He left the ring hidden at my place and we went away for a few days. Later he told me he didn't want to take the ring b/c of the random bag checks at the airport and he didn't know how to get it into a safe deposit box or safe right away without me knowing. We got back from the trip at 1a.m. I went to give him a hug goodbye and I felt his heart racing. So I said, 'Wow your heart is really beating fast!', and he just laughed this nervous laugh. I hugged him again and his heart was still racing so I said again, 'yeah, it's really racing'. Then he said, 'Well there's a reason...'. With that he took out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was such a surprise! I love that story!

Here's how he popped the question....

He told me we were meeting one of his old coworkers at an art gallery in Soho. When we got there the coworker wasn't there yet, it was a cold day so he said we should go inside and look around. So we did. Well we get to the back of the gallery and he turns me around to look at a painting - and it was the caricature drawing we had done of us when we first started dating with a sign at the bottom 'Will you Marry Me?' ! He got down on his knee. I couldn't stop crying!!!!!

My FH made me get off early from work, he said we were going out but he wouldn't say where. Anyway, I come home and get dressed and all of a sudden he calls me into the living room and there he is standing there with our dog. When I looked down my dog was wearing a big wine keg around his neck, my FH told me to look in it . I proceeded to open it and there was a really long string that I just kept pulling out. At the end of it was a metal object that looked like a ring. Next thing I know he gets down on one knee and pulls out a box and asked if I would marry him. I was in shock that I didn't answer right away so he got nervous and asked me again. All I could do is look at the ring and him and ask 'Is it real?' I didn't mean the ring, I just meant the whole situation. To make a long story short I said 'YES' He had a video camera hidden so we have the whole thing on tape. We plan on putting it on our wedding video at the beginning.

Hi everyone, your stories are great. Tom proposed when we were on a vacation at disney. He arranged with Disney World to have a fake invitation sent to our hotel inviting us to a 'private dessert party' at the rose garden by Cinderellas castle. At first I didnt want to go, because I was tired from being on the plane that morning. But we went. When we got to the garden it was roped off so public couldnt walk in the garden. Two ladies from disney were there waiting for us to show up, they were great. They checked my phony invite and gave us some story while we were walking down the path in the garden. At the end of the path was a loveseat, with two tables. One had sparking cider, and toasting flutes. The other had a silver platter with chocolate truffles, and long stem roses and a glass slipper with our names engraved on it. When I saw these things I began flipping out. Tom asked me to sit, and finally I did. Then he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. When I said yes people all over started cheering.It was so romantic. Disney took tons of pics of the whole proposal for us, and helped make our engagement so special! Then we had nine days in disney to vacation. IT WAS PERFECT!

Ok since everyone is answering I thought I would join!!! We were vacationing in the Poconos which we did every year at Pocono Palace (a couples resort)... BEST ROOM, pool & jacuzzi in room!! Anyway the night before we had set my camera up and were taking photos of the two of us in front of fireplace since we didn't have any of both of us together... the next day we had lunch in the room and he started to set up the camera, and I said 'what are you doing?' he said, well I thought we could finish the roll and get them developed... so I finished eating and he said why don't we stand by the fireplace, so I did and was staring at the camera as he hit the timer button... I saw him run over but didn't feel him next to me so I was like hurry up!!! I turned and looked quick, and he was down on one knee with a silver box that was engraved 'Will you marry me?' and the date on it... and right at that moment the camera took the picture!!!! I was like YES!!!! It was so sweet and the moment is forever captured!!!!

IT WAS 2 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND MY FH KEPT TELLING HE BOUGHT ME EARINGS TO MATCH MY DRESS FOR OUR COMPANY PARTY, AND HE WAS AFRAID I WOULD HATE THEM.. SO AS WE PULLED UP TO THE EAB CHRISTMAS TREE HE TOLD ME I COULD LOOK AT MY EARINGS, (NOW I HAD NO IDEA THAT HE WAS DOING THIS, I THOUGHT HE WOULD ASK ME AS A GRADUATION PRESENT WHEN I WOULD BE FINISHED WITH GRADUATE SCHOOL IN MAY 2003) AS I OPENED THE BOX I SAW THIS BEAUTIFUL SPARKLE, I FELT LIKE I WAS HAVING AN OUTER BODY EXPERIENCE, I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT A FEELING CAME OVER ME I COULDN'T EVEN SAY YES AS HE ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM..
