Re: How did they know?
I got something in the mail yesterday with tickets that were oustanding and a company was trying to get me to use them to settle with the parking violations bureau..very scary..I think I'll move, get plastic surgery and change my name!

I put in my name just to see what come up. They have our tenants cars listed!!!!! What the hell. I have heard terrible things about them. IMO I wouldn't use them.

Re: How did they know?
I asked if you lived else where because normally when you register your car you give an address. Normally it's where you live. Also when you get insurance for your car you list a garage location, where you live.
It's really not that hard to put two and two together. It should list any cars registered or insured to that location. Some systems are better at limiting that search to just the cars listed with high probablility of belonging to you, such as name, age or date of cover (say you can't have 8 cars on the same date). If it can't figure it out, it may list none.
