I actually found a dress I loved for the bridesmaids, and this became one of the colors. Then I looked for complimentary colors that would convey a summery fun feel.

same with me, but blue. then i thought about what colors would go nicely with the dress, and what would give the mood i wanted (elegant but summery)

Use this for your BM's dresses, I love it! (and might use it too but as a purple lover I can't keep it to myself!
We picked the colors on the season of the wedding. Since it's in the winter, we're doing blues, silver, and cream. If we had gotten married in the spring like we originally thought, we would have done like a sage green and cream.
Since you're getting married in the autumn, you could used fallish tones such as reds, golds, browns, plums....

I actually picked my flowers first, i knew i wanted bright vibrant color flower and then decided to pair it with dark gray

I'm still trying to figure that out!! I'm thinking of doing blue since I love that color, it compliments my girls, and it will work in the season I'm having my wedding.

I just went around the time of year, what color I think would look pretty and elegant and what would go with the overall theme of what I'm trying to accomplish.

since i am getting married in june, i wanted springy-pastel like colors. one of my favorite colors is pink... i saw the pink/green combination and liked it so thats what i am going with!

It wasn't until I found my BM dresses that I knew I was definitely going with a fall color scheme. Before that, I was thinking of doing a navy blue and silver theme.

I told my daughter, who is my maid of honor that it was her choice as to what color dress she wanted to wear....we picked the flowers around that... (luckily she's got good taste ;) LOL!

Oh man we changed colors so many times. Finally we decided on a fall theme so i went with colors from there. Our main colors are burnt orange and chocolate, but we also incorporated reds, yellows and gold into it.

Colors shouldnt be overwhelming. Just pick what you like. If you like Tiffany Blue, Do it. Go get some Martha Stewart mags and look at the pics in there. She has some awesome color combos. One of my favs was red and aqua. Ill see if i can find a pic.
Heres a page with a whole bunch of pics of aqua and red combo. I tend to like the light aqua with the red better than the darker..
OMG i love the tiffany blue- I painted my old room that blue and then hung all silver picture frames and it looked so pretty. also the tiffany blue goes great with brown.
I'm getting married in June and i have always loved yellow so thats how i picked- i just think its so summery and happy.
