Where else these days- match.com! I was actually gonna switch and was in the middle of signing up for eharmony when he IMed me. I figured I would just meet him that night and if I didn't like him, come back and finish signing up. Needless to say, I never finished.

we talked on line for 2 weeks then by phone for 1 month when we final meet in late dec 03.....I did not like his hair (pic on line was total diff) then we tryed another date 1/03/04 and now I am on LIWEDDINGS

College. DH took an acting class with my ex and his roommate. One day I was having lunch with that ex and his roommate and he sat down with us. I should mention that I was really crabby (PMS) and we got into this rather heated discussion about music. Well I thought DH was a total @sshole!!! I ended up getting into a fight with the ex because of that day, but we made up.

Anyway, DH and I had other mutual friends, so I soon learned that he was a nice guy. After the Ex and I eventually broke up, I realized that DH was a total cutie and a darling to boot, so (after a lot of other rediculous BS) we eventually started dating.

originally through a mutual acquaintance it was such a brief first time meeting, we exchanged phone numbers and email. for about two years we were friends, i was dating someone else and was miserable and FH was who I would vent to. He kept saying we should go out on a date, but I didn't want to risk ruining the friendship. Then one day he starts telling me how much he likes me and every little like and dislike I ever told him he remembered and he says I know you better than you know yourself(to this day I still feel thats true )

So few days later we had our first date and now in June it will be 5 years that we've been a couple.

We met on a nasty rainy night in May 2004 at a friends birthday party. Both of us almost didn't go but he did and i did and now we're getting married :) :) he he he :) :)

Okay, everyone says we have a cute story but it's a little long, WORTH IT THOUGH...
My FH (Vinny) and I first met at his family's car wash (Commack Hand Car Wash). Vinny was on summer break from college (he went away to Pennsylvania) and was working at the Car Wash like he always did on his breaks from school...
I was with my now ex-bf, his name is Jeff. Jeff and my FH went to Elementary School and Middle School together and were friendly but lost touch after 8th grade when FH moved to another district only ten minutes from Commack (Fort Salonga) where he has lived since then.
Jeff was obsessed with getting his car washed which actually turned out to be great for me! He and Vinny noticed eachother, Jeff even knew FH's parents (little did I know my FIL's). Jeff introduced me to his Mom, told me who his Dad was (didn't think ANYTHING of it). Then when we went outside my FH saw Jeff, said hello and said let me do your car... Jeff said sure, they were talking AND my boyfriend introduced me to my future husband!! But, we didn't know it yet...
Vinny and I met, said hello, I remember thinking-- wow, he's cute, but I was with Jeff so that was that and we left...
About a year and a half later me and Jeff broke up and I went on Match.com which was recommended to me by my sister. My FH had also went on Match.com which was recommended to him by his sister. Out of probably close to 400 profiles Vinny's was the ONLY one that stood out. (Mind you, I had NO clue that it was the same Vinny from the Car Wash--I didn't even remember).
I emailed him, he emailed me back and we began talking. (Still didn't make the connection)...
We talked on the phone for over three hours and it was unbelievable! Towards the end of our first phone conversation I asked where he went to school, he said he went to Commack until 8th grade and then to Kings Park and had just graduated a few months earlier from Muhlenburg (Pennsylvania). I immediately gasped when I heard Kings Park because I knew someone who was very special to me who was killed in a car accident that went to Kings Park. His name was Kenny... turned out to be one of Vinny's very best friends all througout High School, they played football together, etc. I knew Kenny during my college years and Vinny knew him in H.S. but because FH went away to college Kenny and him lost touch and Vinny and I never met through Kenny. I never knew, until my first phone convo with Vinny that we were both friends with Kenny at different times.. (now I remember Kenny mentioning his friend Vinny from H.S. but I had no clue).
So it started to get real weird on the phone, almost like fate. So then I casually mentioned oh, Commack until 8th grade... I dated a guy that went to Commack right before you for three years (Jeff). And he was like Oh I know Commack pretty well, I don't know if you know Commack Hand Car Wash but my family owns it and I almost DROPPED THE PHONE. So I said, wait a minute... I think I met you. I dated a guy that you.... and before I could finish he goes, Jeff's girlfriend?? and I go, NOT anymore LOL! And he goes, OMG and I said OMG and there was just silence and then we just burst out laughing...
He said, I remember meeting you like it was yesterday, I was so bummed that you were dating Jeff, He said he remembers telling his Mom after I left, 'Mom, did you see Jeff's g/f, she is beautiful! What is she doing with him?!' HAHA, he told me that Jeff was a nice guy and all when he knew him but he didn't understand why I was with him!!
So, between us meeting through Jeff a year and a half earlier and constantly missing eachother because I can't tell you how many times I went to that Car Wash and we probably just missed one another and then for us to both share a friend that passed away that meant so much to both of us, and then finally Match.com is what brought us together!!
I do have to say it's all because of Match.com and a little bit of fate. My FH and I definitely believe that it is mostly because of our friend (and guardian angel) Kenny who brought us together!
Me and Vinny's first date was December 11, 2005 and on New Year's Eve he told me that he wanted to marry me. I said, are you crazy?! And Vinny said YES but don't you feel the same way? and I said YES!! (We knew eachother three weeks!!!) LOL so he started saving for a ring because he said he wanted to get me something I could have forever and never have to change and on June 23, 2005 he surprised me and proposed formally with my beautiful ring that he picked out and I love!
Like I always say... believe in FATE (thanks Kenny!! )

FH and I work together for a financial PR firm in downtown Manhattan. We began talking during a project we both were working on in fall of 2004. It was during this time the election was going on. We debated over politics and city life, while sharing with each other stories about our childhoods, friends and families. Our debates and friendship grew quickly. We became official, official at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. And six months later……

In college. He lived next door to me. We were great friends, but I had a BF and he had a GF. After college we both worked in the city. On 9/11, he was one of the first people to call me and see if I was okay. From there, we just got close--closer than friends and the rest is history. He took care of me that day like my own father would have.

Nassau community college, we were in a few classes together and he always sat near me, we always would talk... and look now WOOHHOOOOOOO

My brother asked me to go out with him to see a Grateful Dead cover band at a nearby bar. My FI was there because his friend was in the band, and my brother and him started talking. I had no idea they went to HS together. My brother introduced us, and He (my FI)gave me a ride home. We exchanged numbers. I played hard to get for a while, then gave in. And gave up my apartment, and now we're engaged and pregnant, and going to have an 11 month old when we get married, and the rest is history!!!!

That was such a cute story, and Kenny obviously knew what he was doing!!! Congrats

FH and I met at work back in 1994. We became friends, then best friends, and then started dating in 1999 and we will now be together forever.
