Not sure if there was a thread about this, but just curious. I love learning new things about you girls, I am truly loving this site and everyone on here! I'm Addicted!!!
As for me, I knew FH my whole life, he is cousins with my 3 best friends! and our familes are very good friends with each other. Our families always wanted us to be together but we had our own lives going, until it was his niece and nephews (twins) Christening and we started talking and danced a little. That night he emailed me and soon started talking on the phone for hours, and then dated now engaged!! Our families were right all along! It's so weird he was there all along. He is the best thing that has happened to me
FH propsed in Miami on the beach under the moonlight lol until a miami cop comes on a 4-wheeler and asks if I have my purse???, this is while FH is down on one knee... like helloooo don't you see hes proposing lol it was funny.

The proposal was simple we had just came from dinner and we was just sitting around talking about life and then he started to be speechless, my FH is never speechless , fron that moment on I knew what was about to happen.

A friend of mine introduced me to FH in High School, we actually had class together about a year before that but had never spoken to each other.
After almost 6 years of dating he proposed. It was weird because he took me to our favorite restaurant and had the harpist at the restaurant play for us. All this, and he didn't even propose at the restaurant. We went for a walk afterwards and after we got in the car he made me get back out and he got on his knee and did it. He was soooo nervous that he missed all the perfect opportunities we'd had all night.

we met at a party the first week of college, and he proposed at his apartment 5 school years later (he had just finished his masters and i finished my first year of law school) right before we went out to dinner at 'our restaurant'

I met FH in college. We both worked together and at first I really didnt like him . He had a condescending attitude that he was sooooo smart (he is), but he was an ***. We hung in the same group and eventually I found him to be really sweet and caring. That was 6 years ago.
FH proposed in costa rica on our last night under the moonlight on the beach.

We met on Match.com. On our first date, he took me to the beach in Delaware. I talked the whole time about what I liked, what I want in a man, to sex etc. He didn't say much, I thought I had a big mouth and was saying to myself Renay shut-up but I couldn't. Then on the way back, (yes, we spent the day on the beach in February and it was cold. LOL) I fell asleep on him while he was driving. So when I was about to get out of the car and thank him for the date he looked at me and said, do I call you tomorrow and will we see each other. I said yes. That's when I knew he was the one for me because I have issues. LOL.
He didn't really propose to me. He went with me to the hospital to see my mom because she was in the Parker Institute Rehabilitation Center. He gave my mom a long speech about his serious intent, how we're going to be together for years to come, pulls out a box of rings and asks her if he can marry me. Well, I sat there with my mouth wide open and the only thing that came out was you should ask me that and then I said can I see the ring now. See I told you I had issues.

FH and I met through a mutual acquaintance on a blind date- the funny thing was (we didn't know this) but the woman who was setting us up kept calling us sepertately and kept asking if we were still going- we both ended up telling her that if she asked one more time we'd cancel the date!
FH proposed on New Year's Eve 2006 at his place- he called me into his room where he had his computer and asked me to look at the screen- on the screen was the title 'Wedding Guest List' followed by a list of all our relatives and mutual friends.
He then got down on one knee and proposed!

My friend met this guy online and I went with her to meet him. We became friends with him and then he brought his friend over one day and it was FH! I became his friend and then we started dating.
He proposed at the Montauk Lighthouse on his birthday, August 9, this past summer. I was so surprised. He surprised me again later on. We were meeting his parents for dinner and my parents were supposed to be in Florida. Then we pull up to the restaurant and they were there too! It was an awesome day and I got an awesome present on FH's birthday!!!

I met FH through the Firehouse. My dad was a member and FH was a firefighter. We dated for 5 yrs. I met him on Memorial Day and he proposed 5 yrs later at the Memorial Day parade. My fam and I were all watching curbside and all the members stopped....turned towards where we were watching. He got off the line and got down on one knee in front of everyone. The trucks went nuts as did everyone else. You can see the pic on my profile....is was a great day. The best day of my life.

Well..we kinda have an odd story. We both met at Penn State University (the college we both went to). It was freshman year for me and we had met while watching one of the football games at one of my friends apartments. We then later went to a party where we had a wee bit too much to drink (however I was the most sober of the bunch). Well he got a little too sick and I had to clean up his puke that night since the other roommate would of gotten mad if no one did (I used a mop dont worry ha!). I guess I made a good impression that night on him becuase he kept showing up to that same friends apartment in hope I was there. It turns out his friends kept trying to hunt me down and finally one of them got a hold of me and I got his screen name and chatted with him. We met up a month later (after it was all said and done) and after that we were an inseparable pair.
He proposed to me on the top of a fire tower on a big mountain in Pennsylvania by his cabin. It was a little chilly (since it was snowing) but the view was great and it was cute nontheless.

He had all these ideas on how to propose. He wanted to take me on our boat and do it there and then pull up to lunch somewhere and have his and my family there. That changed when he went to order the ring and the jeweler said it can be ready in an hour. From there he went to ask my parents to marry me. He told them it would definitely happen that weekend but he wasn't sure when. Well from my parents he came home and said lets go to Rachels (in Freeport) for dinner (that is where we had our first date). Thinking nothing of it I started to get ready. When I walked down the stairs to the dining room FH turned towards me and I looked at him funny cause he had something on a chain which he never wears (it was given to him by his mom who has passed away). It was my ring! He asked me to marry him right then and there. He couldn't even wait until we got to the restaurant. It is a joke with my family that he had my ring for a whole 2 hours before he asked me to marry him.

I met my FH through one of my friends from HS. They worked together and she showed him pics of her friends fromh HS. He saw my pic and told her he wanted to meet me. It's all down hill from there.
We had our first date in a restaurant in Times Square. So we went to the city and he took me to the center of Times Square in front of the jumbo screen and proposed in front of soooooo many people I had no idea and it was the best surprise ever.

Some background info...i was dating a guy for 5 years and broke up with him on 6/29/04...he's not FH. Later that night i got a message in my email saying that i had a wink. I had no idea what this was about so i happened to be on the phone telling him that i was getting these weird things from a dating website. My friend then told me he created a profile on match.com for me. I opened the wink and it was Joe (FH). Thought he was adorable, started talking and the rest is history. So i actually met my husband the day i broke up with someone else. So much for vowing to be single for at least a year! Joe proposed a little over 2 years later after ice skating in NYC's Bryant Park. It began snowing and i was thanking him for the best and most romantic day we've ever had. We met through Jdate on the computer. He was very witty even through his e-mail messages and instant messages.
We had gone to look at rings together but I didn't know he had bought it. When we were vacationing in Cleveland (We love to go to baseball stadiums together) he popped the question in the hotel room. I wasn't expecting it at that time.

FH and I were highschool classmates/sweethearts if you can call it that we started dating our Senior year.
He proposed New Year's 2006, after the ball dropped in front of both of our families. His dad had asked us to get up and take a picture. FH asked me to turn this way, (I was facing the camera) so I turned around and he was down on one knee! It felt like the paparazzi was around us with the video camera going and everyones flash! I just remember crying and seeing spots!

FH and I met on my first day of College in 2002. We have been together ever since. We had been talking a lot over the past few months about getting engaged but I wasnt expecting it until this summer. (I thought we were going to get engaged on a tropical beach) But I was wrong. This Christmas at 12am he told me that I had a surpise gift on the tree. So I was looking around and there was an ornament that said 'Will You Marry me?' on it. I acutally thought it was a joke and told him to stop playing with me. He told me to open in and there was a ring box inside of it. I told him that I wanted this other ring for Christmas so I never thought it would be an engagement ring. Then once I got the box open I saw the ring and I told him that it was fake!! Once he got down on his knee then I knew that it was real and started to cry. It took me a few minutes to say yes. It was perfect because he caught me totally off guard

I met my FH in Vegas! Well...I used to live there :) It is an ironic story though...my best friend was in town for work and staying at the Palms. When she checked in, she found out she had a suite on the 50th floor and called me right away to come stay with her! I met up with her that night and we did some sight seeing and then decided to go to bed. At the last moment we decided to go out for one drink at the ghost bar (mind you, it was a monday night). There was FH checking me out! But I was like here we go again, another Vegas guy trying to get some! LOL! But as soon as we started talking I found out he was the real deal! He was there on business and also staying at the Palms. We ended up staying up all night talking and the same thing the next night! He lived in Salt Lake City at the time (which I thought was far) but he promised to see me every weekend and he held true on his promise! We did long distance for 4 months and then moved to the east for his job! (I am from NY originally). We moved in together right away and after 1 year and 3 months dating...he proposed!
He did it in front of our very first Christmas tree! We set it up and were listening to X-mas music and drinking hot cocoa. He kept dropping hints for me to look at the tree...'are there enough ornaments on this side'...but I wasnt getting it! I told him I wanted to put presents under the tree and he said there was one in the tree! I saw a sparkly band...but not engagement ring so I thought it was just a nice present! Then the next thing I knew he was down on one knee and reaching under the couch and pulled out a ring box ! To this day...I cannot remember what he said but I just know it was sweet! We sat on the floor and hugged and cried for like an hour! It was so special because I really never saw him cry before.
PS - I forgot to add that FH was also in Vegas the week before we met for a bachelor party and we were at the same bar at the same time! I ended up leaving early but he met all my friends! The next day they told me they met a bunch of nice guys after I left. One of them was FH!!! We thought it was so weird how that happened!

FH and I met at school (he is a medical student and I am a dental student, but everyone goes to the same medical classes the first two years). I kept saying I didn't want to date until I finished school (since I had some bad experiences in college), but he was persistent and after he surprised me with a basket full of little things I like for christmas, that he had decorated himself, I agreed to give dating a try.
He proposed in the Grand Cayman on 12/27/08, the first night of our trip! He had a whole dinner planned (we ate at a restaurant that sets up private tables on the beach) and he was going to have them put a poem he had written in my menu...but apparently I said that I thought the dinner proposal was overrated at some point, so we took a walk after dinner and he proposed under a palm tree with christmas lights...cute
