I was just wondering how everyone asked there MOH to be ther MOH. Did you just ask? Did you do something special like go out to dinner? Please help I have no clue how to do this or what is the right way.

Re: How did you ask....
I asked my M.O.H by sending her a dozen long stem white with pink trim roses and a card that I got from paperstyles.com that says Will you be my maid of honor. I wrote a really nice poem inside on why I picked her and what it would mean to me to have her as my M.O.H. She loved it. I'm really happy I did that.

Re: How did you ask....
I made both of my sisters cards. On the front there was a picture of a little girl dressed as a bride and inside I wrote something like....There is no one else I would rather have standing beside me on my wedding day than you. Would you be my matron of honor?
You can do whatever you feel comfortable doing. Good luck!

Re: How did you ask....
I wasn't as creative as all of you. I am having 2 MOH's and I was going to do something creative... but then I saw one of them at a party and couldn't hold it in, so I asked her right then and there. And then I saw my other MOH at a bar that same weekend and asked her there. Real classy, I know! We cried both times... They are my two best, BEST friends in the world and we practically grew up together. Since I don't have any sisters I consider them my sisters.

Re: How did you ask....
Wow. You ladies are good. I feel terrible! My BM and MOH knew I was asking them, but my MOH (sister) lives in California, so I waited until she came home for my e-party. I wanted to ask her first, then ask the rest of my BM. But everyon was getting antsy, so I just grabbed my sister at the party, pulled her outside, and asked her then. I asked the rest of the BM at the party who were there, called the two who couldn't make it.... Now I feel terrible! YOu girls are so good!!

Re: How did you ask....
I'm so jealous that i didnt think of a more creative way to do it like you guys had. I just called my cousin on the phone and asked her- she was so shocked and it made me happy to shick her. We were so close growing up but over the past few years have grown slightly apart. I have a bunch of closer freinds than her but wanted my MOH to be family! She was so delighted that i didnt regret not being creative until now!

Re: How did you ask....
My MOH was actually helping me stain my closets cherry, and while we were doing it, we were talking about the wedding...and I just asked.
I'll never forget that moment, she bawled her eyes out, and so did I...meanwhile, we are a complete mess, with stain all over our clothes and our faces, just bawling and hugging! IT was a very wonderful moment!

Re: How did you ask....
I have a maid and a matron.
My maid of honor is my best friend who has been my best friend for 10 years. She always knew she would be my maid of honor. The night I got engaged I called her and when she answered I said 'how is the most beautiful maid of honor in the world' She said 'fine' I said 'no how is my maid of honor' She finally caught on.
My matron Grace is a different story. We got engaged Sept 13 and we were going to FL on the 20th to visit Tim and Grace (tim is brians best man). I wanted to ask her in person.
We got to their house at 11 but grace was working till 3. Tim was home. It took Tim 2 hours to notice the ring on my finger. We wanted to see how long it would take them to notice it. Him 2 hours, her 5 minutes. It must be a girl thing.
She got home and gave us a big hug. We were sitting on the couch and she was leaning against me and noticed it. She started screaming and then yelled at me of how I kept it a secret for a week. (This was something I would have called them instantly but nope kept it a secret)
After crying happy tears, I just looked at her and said to her 'you've been my very dear friend for 4 years and stood by my through think and thin and I would like for you to stand with me at the alter and be my Matron of honor' She cried. She said yes and just kept crying. Then I started crying. Of course the guys looked at us like we were nuts.

Re: How did you ask....
I have been best friends with my maid of honor since kindergarten (22 years) so when I called her to tell her I got engaged it was pretty much a given she was going to be my maid of honor. She was like I'll start working on my toast, before I v=could even ask!

Re: How did you ask....
I have a maid of honor and a matron of honor. They are both my sisters so they knew it was coming. I just asked them. Taking them to dinner would be nice. I was so nervous when I asked everyone...even though I knew that they would say yes (and I was very excited when they did say yes!)!
