your wedding date? Just curious because I have a lot of people asking how far in advance I booked vendors, etc for the 'popular' date and if I chose it on purpose.
To be honest we didn't plan it. We wanted June 30th and it was booked so we asked about the weekend before or the weekend after and the weekend after was available so we booked.
How did you guys decide?

I love the fall and in our relationship we have a milestone on 10/11. the closest Saturday for this year was 10/13 -- so that was it

Our 'dating' anniversary is 11/19....the closest available weekend was 11/25 so we booked

We needed to have the wedding in July or August so we could get married before my parents retire and move out of state. (We were engaged in October) We originally wanted July. We had it narrowed down to two RHs, both were only available on Aug 11 and Aug 18. When we went to book the church, Aug 18th was taken, so we went with Aug 11.

It was cheaper. Hahah. Well, we knew we wanted to get married in the fall and some places, including ours drop their rates a little in Nov. We realized there isn't much difference in weather btwn say Oct 20th and Nov. 3rd. Once we learned we don't turn the clocks back until Nov 4th and can take pics after the church, we were sold.

I knew that I wanted spring and a fri night - so we were thinking of May or June. When we started to look at halls we realized that April would be cheaper, so we picked the last weekend in april and it also turns out to be 2 days after our dating anniversary.

June 10th is the date we got engaged in '05. But we chose it because FH wanted to go Hawaii in June And we could only do a fri or sun wedding in order to have the lower minimum option. So when we were sitting there booking the RH - he says every weekend in June was open. I couldn't think of what date was best except June 10th & it was a sunday ! So I figure it's nice cause the date means something !

we found a RH we liked and asked them what dates they had available in our price range...
after we got the list of dates, we picked one that wasn't too close to any major holidays or anyone's birthdays...

funny story, actually. we wanted to do fall, and a three day weekend because we need a sunday (Jewish wedding) and have a lot of ooters). Then, one of my closest friends (to be fair was engaged before us) took Columbus Day weekend. FW is a teacher, and didn't want to do it during the school year, so 9/2 it is!

1) We wanted Feb, cause we met in Feb and it's our anniversary
2)We needed it to be cheap cause we were broke as a joke.
3)Figured that we could go for end of Feb and hope there wouldn't be any snow storms.
and voila! Feb. 25th came to be!

We wanted September. FH didn't want it Labor Day weekend and I still wanted it to be summer like outside. We also wanted a Saturday so 9/8/07 became our date. It's also an easy date for FH to remember 9 8 7

We picked 6/10/06 because: 1) I'd always wanted a June wedding 2) Spring is my favorite season, so that left 3 weekends open 3) I insisted on a Saturday, so that left 3 dates open 4) I didn't want to do it on the first Saturday bc it was one of my BMs b-day, so that left 2 dates open. 5) I counted a year and a half in advance to figure out when I'd be menstruating and if we'd gotten married on the last weekend I would've gotten it on our HM.
So June 10 it was!!!!! Besides, I love how 6/10/06 looks!!

we were asking about early and mid April 08, but when we were looking at the dates they had the very end of march available and we figured with the cost difference, it would be worth it. Plus I didn't want a summer wedding for the simple reason that I want an excuse every year to go away while it is still yucky here.

Wellll... we wanted the 7-7-7 but of course that was not available anymore...so we chose the week after. Then about 2 months later we get a call from the RH saying they double booked and didn'T see that somone booked ahead of us blahblahblah so we could have either 06-28 or 07-28... took the later one.

I wanted Spring or Fall because of the weather and we didn't want our engagement to be longer than a year.
September is out because of tons of family bdays, November can be cold, so we decided October and we wanted the 12th or 20th because our dating anniversary is 12/20. Well, both dates were on a weekend so we decided on the 12th and that was it!
Turns out we're getting married on the same weekend we got engaged, one year later.

FH wanted to get married last sept, but booking all the vendors would have been difficult (we were engaged on 2/14/06)... not to mention I was about to transition jobs, and wanted to be settled in before paying all the $$$
he compromised for june. Other than that, it was up to the church and hall schedules. We both definitely wanted a sat, and wanted an afternoon becuase my family is getting old, and wouldn't travel well at night... not to mention it saves some $$$.
So, the stars aligned and 6/9/07 it is! (This is also the same week of my parents 40 anniversary)
