your wedding date? Just curious because I have a lot of people asking how far in advance I booked vendors, etc for the 'popular' date and if I chose it on purpose.
To be honest we didn't plan it. We wanted June 30th and it was booked so we asked about the weekend before or the weekend after and the weekend after was available so we booked.
How did you guys decide?

We wanted fall since flowerfield is gorgeous in the fall. I couldn't do the middle of Oct bc its my birthday and my bro's bd. The first weekend was booked so we orginally decided on the last weekend in oct, but realized we could save major $$$ if we pushed it one weekend and did it in Nov....hence Nov 4!

We new we wanted Oct then i counted out to see when my monthly friend would be here cause i dont wanna deal with it on my wedding day or homeymoon. I feel like im the only one who did it around my monthy friend.

I always knew I wanted a winter wedding. We love Christmas, so December seemed perfect. The 1st seems early to not be hit with a 17' snow blizzard (fingers crossed) and doesn't interfere with the holidays.

We originally wanted Spring/early Summer, but when we sat down to really talk about it we both decided on August or September. I originally wanted Labor Day Weekend because it's a long weekend and FH's b-day is 9/1 so he won't have trouble remembering our anniversary (he doesn't even know his own birthday!). We asked our RH what dates were available and since the one we wanted wasn't open, we picked the next best thing. I never thought I'd have a Summer wedding!

We met around mid Nov, 3 yrs later got engaged on Nov 21 and decided Nov was the month. We were flexible on the exact date.

I knew I wanted the last Friday of July.. right in the middle of my summer vacation so enough time to finish everything after school ends, but enough time to recover before having to return to work again in Sept.

I wanted October but we have another family wedding the first weekend in November that is out of state (for everyone)...Didn't want to go to close to that one, FH sister got married last Labor Day weekend so we didn't want to have the same exact date....Sept 8th fit in the middle of all of those (plus before all the jewish holidays)

FH and I love to party so I wanted a really good reason to have my wedding go until 3AM…plus I wanted a winter wedding so this equals NYE wedding!!!

It came as a suggestion from FSIL that we marry 7-7-07....b/c the date I really wanted was 3-31-07. When we told the family, everyone said march was a bad time, so when his sis suggested it, we looked around. This was in September, and of course the date was taken!!!! So the next date was Friday 7-13-07.... I was a bit freaked about Friday 13th, but I thought it may be lucky....So when we returned to the RH, that date was taken! So we ended up w/ either 7-8 or 7-31, I didn't want to wait any longer, so we chose, the 8th....

I'm a teacher and our date is the last Friday before winter break, it's cheaper, and MOST IMPORTANTLY.... good hair weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well now I'm getting ready to graduate from college and from September '07-May '09 I'll be in grad school so that determined the year. FH's mom is a teacher so that takes us to July. July is already packed full of anniversaries so here we go into August and the beginning of August is still kind of hot so the later the better without getting into school starting again. Hence, 8/22/09.
Plus our anniversary is 4/8 so we already have the 8 and the 2's add up to 4. I know I'm weird but I think it's cool.

I knew that I wanted August. I called many of the reception halls in December - and most of them had NO August weekends.
I fell in love with the VYC .... so we just went for it.
we decided on it cause of the sense of comfort we got when we walked in the door and also how we connected with our BM

we knew we wanted a fall wedding- i did not want a summer wedding at all. when we went to our hall that had 8/25 & 10/20 available- so we took 10/20 which is a week before FH birthday!

I am a teacher and figured the most convenient time of year to get married with the summer. I have FH three dates to choose from - two in july and one in august. He choose the final date.

Odd thing was this... we worked the date (we knew we wanted a Sunday) around the Rabbi's schedule.. also to make sure that there were no major Jewish holidays around that date. I didn't even pick out the date- FH did when he sat down with the Rabbi..go figure that one. I was mad at him for about a day.
Also it just so happened that the date is significant (we realized this after.. lol) it's about the same time of year that we took our first vacation away from NYC (we went to Vegas).
