I HATE the summer and I knew if we got married in the winter, knowing my luck, there would be a blizzard!!! Don't laugh, it happened to me when I was planning my mother's surprise 60th b'day -- it was THE blizzard and I was stuck with enough food to feed an army! I had to invite neighbors in to eat it since no one showed up, obviously!!!!

But I LOVE the Fall and wanted to get married in October, especially since it's when we first started dating (even though we met in Sept). My first choice was October 13 (it's a number thing -- love odd numbers), but since the hall wasn't available that day, had to settle for October 6, which is actually closer to the anniv of our first date (Oct. 3). I really wanted a date that didn't 'belong' to anyone else, but I had no choice location wise!

In the end, it doesn't matter -- as long as we're together, that's all that counts!! Any date is special!

We met on Valentine's Day, started dating in February, and got engaged in February. February just seemed like a good month for us. We picked the 15th b/c it's the day after Valentine's Day and b/c it's the beginning of President's Week. I'm a teacher so I'll always have that week off for future anniversary vacations!

We wanted to get married around our anniversary (Sept. 8th). We knew that we wanted a Sat. and the first Sat. closest to the 8th is the 11th. I said that I am not getting married on Sept. 11th, so that is how we got to the Sept. 18th.

I am a teacher with only certain time off. My FH said No Way to the summer, so that left april, february or december. I thought April would be good because it gives us a 16 month engagement, and time to save money.

We
