How did you decided on what month to get married?

Original post by Jenn04

Was it price or weather or both or something else?

We decided on June because of price and weather. We got a good deal for booking 6 months out and we were flexible with our dates! I've always wanted a summer wedding too!

convinience and weather. I am in law school and during late summer of this year is the only time it really works for me, plus he hates the idea of a winter wedding.

We didn't want hot.

We didn't want freezing cold.

I love the fall.

We wanted a holiday weekend.

September has Labor Day weekend, but its still potentially a really hot day.

October has Columbus Day weekend, but 2 of my cousins got married that weekend .... and it wasn't available at the hall we wanted when we booked.

November has Veterans Day weekend -- so that was our answer!

yeahhh another law student! we start classes on aug 27th so i wanted to squeeze it in bw summer associate jobs and 3L classes.

We get married 8/17, honeymoon is 8/18-8/25 and classes start 8/27. (i thought classes started 8/25 but i decided to skip the first day in order to have another day of honeymoon.... luckily it worked out and classes start on wed this year!)

our decision was based on both factors. I knew pricing would be a lot better in november or october than say july or august...or even april or may when i originally thought i wanted to get married. i'm not big on hot weather either...especially if i have to wear a 30 pound gown..lol.. so i figured november would probably still be pretty decent weather wise and we were able to get a great deal from our hall!!

we wanted an engagement less than year, so we were torn between feb and march. we also knew we wanted a sunday. our hall had either feb 17, or march 30. DH wanted the 17th because it was a holiday weekend, and that was that

We wanted it to be nice out, but not too hot. We didn't want to wait unitl spring 09, so we picked Sept. 08. When looking at dates, my parents anniversary is the weekend before (it was booked) but it would be my grandparents anniversary if my grandfather was still alive. My grandmother LOVES that we are getting married on her wedding day. Cost had a little to do with it, since we made it a 'short booking' and waited until feb. to book.

Me and FH both work in schools, and I always wanted a summer wedding....so July it was! Not to mention, my wedding day is my mom's 50th b-day!!

Well we wanted it to be in April-April 19th to be exact- I can not imagine how crazy it would be if I was getting married in 2 days!! FH actually reminded me this morning!! But we had to schedule it around his brother, the best man and his college soccer schedule also FH wanted him to be 21 so that he could be at his Bachelor Party.

I chose September because that was when the RH I wanted had open dates.

We're both teachers and during the school year we wouldn't be able to go on a honeymoon right away or anything. So, summer it is!

DH and I had our first significant trip in the middle of March so we decided to get married in March- also a plus was the price and also the weather.

I always thought the Fall was the prettiest time of the year. Also, not to hot or to cold. When we first got engaged, I said right away I wanted Oct. 18 because that was my Grandma's birthday. Our RH was booked for the 18th so we decided on Oct. 25.

My dads parents got married on May 16th and so did my parents. So i said ok, if it falls on a friday then we'll pick that day. And because of leap year, it falls on a friday!

I wanted a fall wedding but FH is a teacher so we said summer. We were thinking July or August and one of my best friends/bm was starting med school and knew she would have break in August so here we are.
