How did you decided on what month to get married?

How did you decided on what month to get married?

Was it price or weather or both or something else?

We decided on June because of price and weather. We got a good deal for booking 6 months out and we were flexible with our dates! I've always wanted a summer wedding too!

i wanted a december/christmas wedding. fh didn't want to deal with it because of the cold, but i love christmas and the whole holiday season. So that knocked out winter, we didn't want to wait until fall so we decided end of may. price went up by like $5-10 the next day for 6/1

also depended on what the rh's had available; we didn't have a set date, just went with what they had.

We wanted an engagement between 14 and 18 months (got engaged Jan 07), and the since the earlier spring months are less expensive than late May and June we went with April.

Originally we were April, and we chose april because I wanted a summer wedding.. obviously too expensive to we went with the weekend before peak season begins..

NOW.. November which is when we started going out.

Easy: I'm a teacher and wanted plenty of time off both before and after the wedding. I did NOT want to work just days before OR have to go back to work when we got home from our HM. So, FH was cool with this and we went with July. Unfortunately for him, he'll be heading back two days after the HM. I wish he could stay with me the whole summer!!!!!!!!!

well we were originally Sept 26th but had to change it bec of FH going to Iraq- to Dec 20th

We first were going to do may 2009 but then i said i waited for you for 4 yrs being away i am not waiting another year to marry yuo once you get back so we choose Sept 26th bec we wanted cooler weather and well the 26th was the only date available in Sept at JT

But then we moved it and we decided Dec 20th because I was finished with my finals for school and i DID NOT want to have to go back to 2009. Plus we thought FH would be home from Iraq and out fo the Marine corps in plenty of time. AND THAT IS NOT TRUE STILL. He will only be home a week before the wedding and leave the day after the honeymoon to go back to Japan for a month to sign out of the stupid Marines haha

Price and we wanted to do it as soon as physically possible after we got engaged. We got engaged in March...summer was out because a) it's too pricey, b) it's too hot (for us anyway).....we knew winter would be the cheapest but we didn't want holiday decor going on when we got married so we waited until after the holidays, looked at Jan, then Feb but decided that March was best and it was still in that jan/feb/march best pricing range.

WEATHER!!!!!!

i knew i always wanted a may or june wedding...i dont do too well with the heat so i said may will be better...MY ideal weather would be about 70-75 a light breeze and believe it or not i dont want it extremely sunny hahaha

my dream month to get married has always been october! So we originally had it booked for February because of FH's job but i have a lot of OOT guests from Florida, New Orleans, Arizona, etc. I was afraid of it snowing and no one would be able to fly in! So i decided to change it to October and we will just have to wait on our honeymoon!

FH did not want summer at all - but we did consider doing July 3 of this year because it would have been our 1 yr engagement anniversary and it falls on a thursday and we could have probably gotten a good deal with the RH - but we didnt want to inconveince peoples 4th of july plans and most of all we werent sure if that would give us enough time to pay for the wedding....we also liked the idea of a december/christmas wedding - then i saw jtgarsiks review and loved the idea even more we planned on staying away from the more popular months - we didnt want our wedding to be during 'wedding season' you know when you have like 2 or 3 weddings all around the same time and we didnt want to pay top price either - oh and FH didnt want to be sweating in a tuxedo so he preferred the colder months that pretty much left us with Jan, Feb, March and December - we decided weather wise December was on the safer side and it would fit in perfectly with the christmas wedding we had talked about - so we checked out the pricing at JT and booked that day for the first friday in December and now i cannot wait for it!

I always wanted a summer wedding the day I originally wanted was booked 6/7/08 so I decided to put it near 4th of July weekend so that I wouldn't inconvience alot of my guests

My date twin said it perfectly! That is exactly why we chose July. FH wanted to get married in Sept but that would just be crazy being that school starts in September. (I don't think the other faculty would have nice things to say about me! )

We liked the idea of getting married on leap year! The cheaper cost helped but it was more about it being leap year!!

We both wanted a Fall or winter wedding, though a summer wedding would've been easier becuase FH is a teacher. We ended up looking at the weekend after Thanksgiving and the weekend after Christmas. Since we both love the Christmas holiday season we went ith our date. Cost did also play a role since we knew that a weekend inbtween Christmas and new Year's might be a little cheaper.

Re: How did you decided on what month to get married?

Well, a lot of it was narrowed down for us based on logistics w/ law school. we wanted to go on a honeymoon and i'm only off from law school long enough during winter and summer breaks. i hate cold weather and we have a lot of OOTers so didn't want to risk a snowstorm. that left august and may (before and after my summer job) and august seemed easier, so i wouldnt be getting married right after exams.

also.... our dating anniv is 9/1 so we tried to get as close to that as possible, i liked the symmetry of 08/2008 and i love the summer! i'm an august baby
