I went to a bunch of stores and narrowed down what I really wanted in a dress ( I loved Maggie, corset back, and lace). I went to Macy's and tried on 2 dresses and one of them was the one I ended up getting, but I went to RK bridal first and was able to try it on in the color I wanted and that was when I knew it was the dress I wanted!!!
I had picked one out of a magazine that I LOVED and when I tried it on, I just didn't feel like a bride... I tried on about 30 dresses at Kleinfeld and none of them was 'the one'. I liked them all, I just didn't feel like THIS IS IT. Then I thought, maybe I won't get that feeling, maybe I'll just 'like' my dress. They were all pretty and all looked nice on, but they just weren't ME. I went to another store and saw this dress on the hanger and just knew it was the one, and it was!
Actually I found a dress I liked in a magazine but I couldn't find it anywhere so I went to a bridal shop. I told them what I was looking for and they brought out about 7 dresses that fit my description and asked which one do you want to try on- I pointed to one tried it on and as soon as I put it on my best friend said that's the one. I tried others but none compared, so I bought the first dress I tried on.
when i first started looking in magazines, i kept pulling out photos of dresses i liked and when i saw that i had pulled out pics of the SAME dress multiple times, i knew i had to try it on.
i searched internet, magazines, and went to salons with specific styles in mind - and got something completely and totally different - i insisted no way did i want strapless and i wanted very simple - the sale resp told me just to try it on she thought it would look very nice on me - and i fell in love! So i say keep an open mind and try lots of dresses on!
I actually cut out tons of pictures in magazines before I went shopping. I had an idea of what I wanted and didn't want. For fun one day I walked into Macys Bridal and saw this dress just laying on a chair. That was it. I had to have it. My mom was with me and was like that is nothing like any of those pictures you cut out. I said, I know, but this is it. I put it on, first and ONLY dress I ever tried on. It was meant to be.

I am actually using my mother's wedding dress...
It was something special she wanted to do and she kept it preserved all these years!
I am going to clean it of course and then bring it to a bridal salon to have it altered and totally changed to the style I want...
I am actually kind of excited about it!
and my mom is happy!
woww do u have any pictures of both her dress and what you are having it altered to
I went through magazines and picked out dresses I liked. There was this one that was my top choice so I went to salons that carried dresses by this manufacturer. Tried it on and LOVED it just as much--then they showed me a similar dress for half the money in a slightly lighter fabric (better for July) and the second I put it on I KNEW it was it. I tried on a few more to make sure, brought my mom, sister, and grandma back and bought it!
Someone posted here about a Reem Acra sample sale and I went and I found my gown! I had tried on about 15 gowns by that point..

I saw alot of dresses in bridal mags and wrote down the designers names and researched where salons had them. I found my gown at adrienne's bridal and when I tried it on, I got goose bumps all over and knew this was the one.
i saw it on the rack in a salon, and tried it on and new it was the one.....

I did a search for my fave designer online (Maggie) & narrowed it down...it was the 2nd dress I tried on & after trying on 20-30 more I came back to my first choice.
I searched on the internet mainly and magazines. Then went to RK bridal and loved the dress on me.
Tried on a ton and when I tried on 'my gown' I just knew it was the one when I began to cry out of happiness...I LOVED it and still do.

Looked online went to RK bridal got an idea of what worked and then the dress my saleslady bought was the ONE!![]()
