i don't like the traditional 'Mr. & Mrs. John Smith' (i mean..hello? i have a first name too!)

so we're gonna be introduced as the newly married Peter & Melissa [His Last Name]

I agree - I just want our first names and his last name.

I don't care. I guess I will use Mr and Mrs. groom and last name. Only because it doesn't bother me and the other way won't work for me because I am KEEPING my last name.
