Hi Gina

I went to Macys Bridal on Friday and tried on a bunch of gowns I LOVED. After the 4th gown I thought I would never ever be able to decide. I tried on a gorgeous gown on the 1st shot - it was a pickup style and very modern and said to myself 'Im getting this one.' But I was questioning it, 'AM I going to look back in 10 years and be like 'what was I thinking' I just had the smallest apprehension about it BUT its a beautiful dress and looked great on. If you decide to get that style you will look stunning BUT Im just offfering my thoughts. Then I tried on a more traditional yet breathtaking gown - once I walked out and put the veil on I started to cry. SO did FMIL and my mother. It was the one. I felt it in my heart. AND I knew that 10-20-30 years from now, that in the gown I chose, will still be gorgeous, classic, and elegant! Plus, the selling point is that it is so comfortable and features a detachable train. So, you know all those horror stories about the bustle falling apart? I dont hvae to worry about that! SO, deep down I got the dress I never knew I always wanted. Oh and there is a pic in my album of it. Good luck!

By the way, the dress shown is amazing and you will look stunning in anything you choose.. Hope this was helpful!

So, in a nut shell we had the oppositie problem. I envisioned a gown that was more modern and more 'me' until I tried on the gown I ended up purchasing. They alwasy say you get something that you may have never thought you would like! Go with your instinct!

I saw my dress online and from the minute I saw it, I knew it was the one.

I did try on others and liked others, but I always went back to the one I bought. (Pics in my album)

It is trendy butI didn't want something too plain -so I got the best of both worlds - no beading, lace, embroidery, crystals BUT it has pick-ups.

I originally thought that I would wind up with a strapless gown but when I saw a picture of mine, I just knew that it was the one. It fits great and even has a detachable train which was a preference but not a necessity.

I'm so jealous of all you girls that get 'that feeling' ... I'm not really like that, and actually got pretty annoyed at one dress salesperson because she told me I couldn't love two dresses, it has to be one. I just don't get emotional over a lot of things.

I've just been trying on tons of dresses, and I found one that is beautiful and looks good on. I'm 99% sure I'm going to buy it, but I decided to wait until 1 year before my wedding to order it, so in the meantime I'm continuing to try on dresses. Even though I hate shopping, I love trying on wedding dresses The one that I plan on buying actually has color in it, which I was sort of against at first, but it really makes the dress.

I just knew. What really got me was when my attendent put on a veil and tiaria. That was when I realized. I tried on about 15 dresses before I found the one.

Re: How did you know UR Gown was the GOWN?

I saw my gown in a magazine about 2 months after FH proposed. I looked for this dress on many websites and called tons of stores and no one was expecting a sample to come in (it was the 2006 line). So by the time I started shopping I had basically given up. I found a totally different gown, much more modern and in at the moment it fekt so perfect and so wrong at the same time the day I went to put a down payment my mom was running late so I went to get a bite to eat and got stopped infront of another bridal shop. My friend dragged me in and when I walked in I saw my gown!!! I had given up on it over a month before but there it was. The people in the bridal shop thought I was insane when I ran to the car and pulled the picture of it out of my glove compartment just to be sure! I know it sounds totally dorky but that was my sign!

Everyone says you'll know when it's the 'one'. But i haven't felt that yet either. I try on many that look great but then the next day or week i question if it's 'me' or not. I want something different but still look like a bride. I have 2 that I keep going back & forth between and asking everyone's opinions...but i think ultimatley it needs to be a dress that I love and am comfortable in..mom hasn't gone shopping with me yet so i haven't had that 'Mom cried moment' either :(

But at Ieast I knew FH was the one after only the second date...haha..who knew fnding the dress would be so tough??? Good luck...i am sure you'll look stunning in whatever you pic...you look amazing in the Buff Bride pics!!!!

Re: How did you know UR Gown was the GOWN?

i am a very indecisive person and my taste changes every year. I also worry about looking back and saying to myself ' what was i thinking'
I was weary about looking for gowns b/c of the reasons above.
Sure enough all the gowns started to look alike and i couldnt choose one over the other. I liked all of them but i was holding out till i had the 'just know' moment and sure enough i had it!

you will try on a ton of gowns but do not settle for a dress you simply like! You have to love it and when you go home if all you can think about is that dress, then you have your answer.

Trust me, in ten years long puffy sleeves may be back in style?!?! Stuff recycles itself. And our daughters will prob. laugh at our dresses just as we prob. laughed at our parents attire back in the day.

good luck though! And hold out for the moment!

i bought my dress from macys, but i didnt know what i wanted, i actually was going in to just 'LOOK' and i picked about 20 dresses. the first one i tired on i loved and and every dress after i spent comparing. except for the last one, my mom picked it off the rack(i thought it was ugly) but as soon as i put it on, it looked amazing. But i have to say, i never got the feeling, 'it was the dress' it just was the most comfortable on, it fit great.. and over time after we bought it, i gave up on looking at dresses in magizines, and stoped killing myself over it. I dont believe in that feeling. if you love it get it, you'll make yourself crazy!! just make sure its comfy.. you're gonna wear it for a long day

Re: How did you know UR Gown was the GOWN?

I too always pictured myself in a very traditional gown and every gown that I had my eye on for the past year I tried on and hated on me! I went to Macy's first and I stumbled upon my gown thanks to my older sister who was persistent on me trying it on, so I said why not? Allowing myself a couple of days to think about it, and I couldn't stop thinking about the dress, I went to Lillette's in Baldwin to try on like 5 more dresses. One of which I also liked, so I was affraid it'd be a hard decision. Immediately after leaving Lillette's with my 2 MOH's, I went back to Macys to try the dress on again. It was not a hard decision after all once I tried on my dress again. I guess that's how I just knew.

When I first got engaged, I found my dress in a magazine and always said that is exactly what I want. Everytime I looked online I kept finding that dress. I went dress shopping and it was the 3rd gown I put on and I just knew it was the one. You will know. Don't settle, make sure you love it and you don't question it.

well, i definitely knew it was MY gown (the 'one') and i get very excited when i try it on or think about it-- but it wasn't nearly as much as i thought it would be-- meaning, excitement wise.

i always envisioned everything being SO much like a fairy-tale and me feeling like it was SO perfect for me... i love it, looks great on me, feels great-- etc etc but i felt in my mind, growing up, that it was going to be a different experience than that and it wasn't... it was just nice-- not fireworks like i thought lol

so it was a let-down that it wasn't what i pictured it would be like (the experience of finding it) but, just try and go with your gut and don't have any regrets-- follow ur heart, you'll look beautiful and stunning no matter what!!
