How did you learn about LIW???

I was told by KRIS516 bc she was engaged before me and already a member.

I found it by accident. I Googled 'Long Island Wedding' when we were looking for catering halls. I was totally not exepcting this site! I'm glad I found it though. I've gotten so many great ideas off here, and I love getting your opinions on things!!

yup, me too. I was googling halls since I live in MD and don't know the area that well (FH parents live in Queens). I came across the site a few times before I decided to register, and the rest is history...

I found it while researching halls...once I narrowed it down to Westbury Manor, I began researching a lot about them and came across some reviews on this site...thats how the addiction began.

Combination of Google and The Knot. I used this site to find vendors when I Googled it, but didn't really know of the message boards until I was posting on The Knot and someone mentioned it to me.

A client of mine found out I was newly engaged and told me about it. She told me there were these great message boards that tell you what to do to get ready for your wedding, and how to do things (like go to the bathroom in your dress) the day of.
