Same here.

He worked in the same place I did!

we met in nursing school...I think he was the ONLY straight male nurse in the class

I responded to his Yahoo personal. After a week of e-mails and instant messaging, we spoke on the phone for over two hours and decided to meet in person that night. After dinner and a movie and talking in his car for a few hours the rest was history.

Waldbaums...I was 16, he was 17. We were both relatively new and were cashiers, except I was dating a loser stockboy at the time. 9 years later and we're getting hitched!

I think my story is totally silly, but totally fate! We met online - but not through a match site!

Literally a few months before I started 'chatting' with FH, I was on the subway and listening to Bon Jovi and thinking, wouldn't it be nice to meet a guy who loved the Yankees, would go to games with me, and AT LEAST tolerate Bon Jovi enough to go to concerts with me?

Well....in October the Yankees were in the playoffs. I was still in a Bon Jovi phase. So I would post to this fan club website www.backstagejbj.com to pass the time at temp jobs. I was at some playoff games and when Paul O'Neill came up to bat, and I noticed they played 'Keep the Faith' by Bon Jovi. So I posted a lame message to the site asking if Paul O'Neill was a Bon Jovi fan (he totally is, because we've seen him at tons of shows!). Miles away in Georgia, FH was posting to the same website. He noticed the post, and clicked on my profile and sent me an email- he wanted to talk baseball. And yes, he happened to be a Bon Jovi fan. I thought, okay, this guy is not normal. But we had fun talking baseball and I didn't think anything of it- he was in Georgia, I was in NY.

Well time went on, we'd chat about more personal things. I saw his picture and almost fainted underneath my desk- didn't want him to be CUTE too!!! Well once we saw each other's pics it got way flirtatious, we moved to the phone...would talk for 5-6 hours. We finally decided to meet officially about 5 months later. He was originally from NJ anyway, so he wanted to come visit his friends and meet me...and see Yankee games of course. Well, that first weekend we met there was no doubt...and we kept a long distance relationship for about 2 years until he moved back to NJ about 3 years ago!!

Such a wacky story! But no doubt about it, it was fate!

ETA: and since then FH has made me become totally SICK of Bon Jovi!! hahaha!!! He's a bigger fan than I am!!!

Tara I love your story too (fellow Yankee Fan here). So I guess you guys have been dating a while if O'Neill was still at bat. Remember when he use to throw temper tantrums on the plate??!!!! Ah......the good old days!!

online dating. We were on different sites but the two sites interfaced with eachother and we were matched. We talked for about a month before meeting in person and then 2 months after our first date he moved in with me. But it took me four years to be ready for marriage. I had commitment issues

We meet at work. The funny thing is I was still with my ex (who I met online) and my FH was trying to convince me that I should get rid of him and get with him, cuz he can treat me much better. So glad I listened..got rid of ex got with FH nad now I am THE HAPPIEST GIRL ALIVE

We met through my MatOH and his ex g/f. AJ (MatOH) hired Jeanine and we started to hang out and Jeanine had a friend Stephanie, who I became close to. She introduced me to some of the guys in the FD with Evan. We met on a really nasty snowy evening at Friday's in Bethpage where he was acting totally immature (something I've come to love ) We hung out at his Fire house and exchanged numbers... and the rest as they say is history!

Really? Isn't Myspace relatively new? But I guess you were just together a short time before getting engaged.

FH and I met through a friend of his who was dating my college roommate.

at work...and we still work together in different departments. I am a sales assistant and he is the IT Director.
The first time we actually 'hung out' & everything started was at Paddy McGees.

FH and I met in college, but didn't start dating until 3 years after graduation. We knew each other freshman and sophomore year, but didn't actually become friends until junior year. FH and his friend (who is now the best man) sat next to me in class, and it was actually his BM that got us talking. Within a month we started taking ski trips and spring breaks together with all of our friends - even sharing hotel rooms. There was always this thing between us - and we even talked about it, but nothing ever happened because he was with his ex at this point. I have even gone away with FH and his ex AND shared a hotel room!!!!

By the time they broke up after graduation I was with my ex, but we casually kept in touch. Three years after graduation my ex and I were nearing the end of our relationship, and FH just moved to NY. Shortly after my ex and I broke up a few friends, including FH, took a road trip to our alma mater. I didn't tell him right away about the breakup, but his friend asked how the ex was doing. As soon as I mentioned that it was over, FH walked me too the door of my hotel and we kissed. We've been together ever since.

We worked in the same office but in different departments. He started working there 6 months before me and we started dating about a year later. We both developed a crush on each other after becoming friends.

A couple of weeks before we started dating someone else in the office had asked me out and after talking to him on the phone one night I realized I really wasnt interested. The next day I was telling my friend about it and as I was talking to her FH walked by us in the hallway. After he passed I said to her see thats who I should be with instead...he would be so much better for me than the other guy! Two weeks later we went on our first date.

I met up with a gal pal from HS who invited me to her daughters christening. I actually checked him out, but then thought to myself whoa he may be married.

As it turns out he was her neighbor and single. The four of us went out for dinner one night. I had this huge smile on my face when I came home, because I felt like I was on a date but didn't know it.

It was perfect. We've been together ever since.

We started dating in my junior year of high school and have been together ever since!
