what car seat should I get? Should I buy this - buy that....well here's my question...
How do you know what you need??
I am CLUELESS - the first in my family and of my friends to have a baby. I have no clue, and no guidance.
What can I read to educate myself on what to buy, how to dress the baby in the different seasons, and all the other million questions I have??

Hi, just visiting this board I don't know what you should choose for a car seat but usually people buy all that stuff for you at your baby shower, so just register for it. Do a little research online for carseats too - Consumers does a review on this Im pretty sure.

I bought the baby bargains book (there is a new edition out this month). They review all types of baby products and list which manufacturers have had problems. I then went onto babiesrus.com for any item I was interested in to get people's reviews that have used the items every day to see how they liked it
PS - I have heard Baby Bargains updates and reviews products more often than Consumer Reports

Although we are registering - I should add I am not having a shower because I am jewish...so some things I need to get on my own ahead of time.

I asked A LOT of questions of other moms when I was pregnant with Emma. I also did a lot of research on BRU website with their feedback. Don't worry, you'll get through it.

The Baby Bargains book mentioned above rules! I was totally clueless before I read that. Its not just about saving money -- it educates you on what is needed and why.

I second the Baby Bargains book as a great source of info! I have it and I love it! I has everything from crib reviews to a list of basic baby needs!
