How do I tell my guests?

So here's the problem - My wedding is 6 hours - an hour longer than normal. How do I let people know that? I'm just concerned that people will not stay till the end cause they didn't know...

How do I tell my guests?

what do you mean? the wedding including cocktail hour and reception is 6 hours? Mine is 5.5 hours (ceremony 6:30-7, cocktail 7-8, reception 8-12) and I thought that was normal.

How do I tell my guests?

If you're worried about them not knowing, maybe you can put something on the invitation? 'Please join us for a reception at ..... from 6pm-12am' or something like that?

How do I tell my guests?

We also paid to extend our wedding an extra hour. Ours is Ceremony 6:30-7:00, Cocktails 7:00-8:00, Reception 8:00-1:00. I am not worried about getting the word out to guests. People will just see that the party is still going and enjoy the extra hour of open bar and dancing to the band. Asside from the older people I am not worried about anyone leaving early.

If you really think it might be a problem for your guests maybe make a mention of it on your wedding website?

How do I tell my guests?

Start telling friends and family to spread the word so that people have a heads up.

How do I tell my guests?

If people aren't going to stay until the end they are going to leave anyway. But anybody who plans on staying until the end will stay if the party is still going on.

How do I tell my guests?

Our reception is 4 hour after the ceremony... so we are putting in the invitations the time of the reception. That's the best way to let people know.
