how do tastings at your hall work?

how do tastings at your hall work?

Just curious...

How many people can you bring to the tasting? Do every single person get their own plate of food? Did you taste all the entrees available for you to choose from? Did you taste the salad/appetizer as well?

Also, did you call you for the tasting/menu choosing or did you have to call them?

Thanks!

I booked the Chateau La Mer. We were allowed to bring 6 people. they brought out the salad, most popular appitizer and then family stye dinner with a meat, chicken, fish, stuffed shrimp. these are the most popular choices. Then they brought out a sample of cookies and pastries that we get for the vienesse hour. Their food is amazing and the service was great

My hall doesn't do 'tastings'...they tell you before you book to make a reservation in their restaurante to have dinner....eat, drink, get desserts whatever. Then when finished speak to one of the banquet managers and they comp the whole thing. They basically want you to surprise them...
FI and I had the most amazing meal...it def sealed the deal!

My hall said I could bring as many people as I wanted (I guess within reason) and to schedule it when there was a wedding scheduled that day and they just made a few extra plates for us to try in private.

My hall does it about 4 months prior and also has other brides come too.You can bring 4 other people and it is like a mock cocktail hour with sampling of main dishes too.

mine does it once a week, well I didn't book them yet, but last night I went to the tasting & the food was great so now I am going to definately book them, not one complaint from the six of us. They have family style set up for each course, but there was more than enough food for 6 people....the entrees were huge, which was great...

My hall does the tasting a few months before. I brought 6 people with me. We didn't get a plate of food each, we had to share. We ate what ever the bride was having that night for her wedding. We had the salad, appetizer, and 3 entrees.

Ours called us up when they had their next available tasting. They actually set up the room as though there was an actual reception going on. Each party that attended the tasting had their own table. They had a piano player during the appetizers in case you liked him for your own wedding. We each got our own plates of several different appetizers, meat, chicken and fish dinner entree, and a few different types of cake to taste. During the dinner, they had a live band play again in case you liked them for your own wedding. The service and the food were both amazing!!!!!

We had a tasting before we signed the contract. They brought us out a plate with chicken, fish, beef and veggies to sample. It was really good!

My reception site does the same thing... without the 'comp' part. I asked them if they do tastings, and the guy said, 'Yeah... it's called our restaurant.' He's lucky I was just in LOVE with the place.

Supposedly, they'll bring up cocktail hour food to you when you're eating in their restaurant, but the last time we went there, there was no wedding going on, so we missed out. I'm hoping to go back for our Engagement Anniversary.

at the bourne the tasting are scheduled the day of an event - a couple hours prior to the start- you get to try three dishes of that day

it was only the two of us that went but we could bring others if we wanted but not sure if there was a max

we tried the cocktail food at bridal show

We had our taste testing before we booked the hall - once we had the tasting we booked and signed the contracts an hour later.

There was five people total, including us at our tasting. They put us in a separate room while another wedding was going on - they brought us tons of food from the cocktail hour and then dessert. We left there and were so stuffed!!

When we booked Jericho Terrace we made an appointment and they said we can bring both sets of parents or whoever we wanted. It turned out my FH and I just went being we were paying for our wedding. We had a feast, they gave us a full course meal from appetizers to desserts...it was GREAT!

We arranged a private tasting. THere were 5 of us in total and they served bread, three full meals, the desserts, and whatever liquor we wanted. It was SO MUCH FUN!! The service was fantastic too. They made me feel special during the tasting so I knew my wedding would be even better. And the food was delicious.
